Η Lorus ως θυγατρική της Seiko χρησιμοποιεί σε αυτό το ρολόι τον μηχανισμό 7S26C τον οποίο η Seiko έπαψε να χρησιμοποιεί μιας και η νέα τάση θέλει μηχανισμούς που να διαθέτουν hacking και χειροκίνητο κούρδισμα παράλληλα με το αυτόματο. Εντούτοις, πέρα αυτών των δυο χαρακτηριστικών που δεν είναι κάτι το απαραίτητο, η ακρίβεια του μηχανισμού δεν έχει να ζηλέψει σε τίποτε από τους νεότερους. Ίσως μάλιστα το ότι είναι απλούστερος να τον καθιστά αξιοπιστότερο. Αρχικά η ακρίβεια που μέτρησα κατά τις πρώτες ημέρες της αγοράς του ήταν της τάξης των +5 δευτερολέπτων την ημέρα. Αρκετά καλή δηλαδή για την κατηγορία χρημάτων. Βέβαια, ένα αυτόματο ρολόι που μόλις κατέβηκε από το ράφι, για να δείξει την πραγματική του ακρίβεια χρειάζεται μια περίοδο ενός μηνός έως ότου τα λιπαντικά κυκλοφορήσουν και τα κινητά μέρη πάρουν την φόρμα τους. Όπως και να έχει το ότι η απόκλιση είναι σταθερή δείχνει εξαιρετική μηχανική κατασκευή. Εξωτερικά φαίνεται στιβαρό και ένα κλικ καλύτερο από τα αντίστοιχα σε τιμή seiko. Επίσης η αισθητική του είναι αυτό που θα λέγαμε "πιο Ευρωπαϊκή" σε σχέση με τα seiko, οπότε το προτιμώ από ένα αντίστοιχο seiko 5. Για τα χρήματά του είναι άριστη αγορά με μια υποσημείωση πως ενώ αναφέρει 10bar για την αντοχή του στο νερό το κουρδιστήρι του δεν είναι βιδωτό, οπότε δεν θα το εμπιστευόμουν σε κάτι περισσότερο από πλύσιμο χεριών.
