There is only one primary philosophical question, which is twofold: what are we and what would we like to become, but also a meta-question: why would we like to, and how can we ultimately, become that. The timeless, open play between being and becoming is the essence of the question of authenticity - as well as what you contain and what contains you is the beginning of the exploration of the question of authenticity.
The great proclamation of modernity is none other than that of freedom. However, perhaps its realization is not purely based on a conception of some form of rationality and/or historicity, but the path to it opens up through a renewed conception of creativity and authenticity.

The majority of thinkers either identify authenticity with autonomy or perceive one as a major condition for achieving the other, however a clearer distinction between them and a revision of their relationship - in the fields of the real (material) and the hyper-real (digital) - becomes necessary. Authenticity-as-creativity - liberated from the need for an inner self and with original aspects, such as co-authenticity and iso-authenticity - may be a socio-political, aesthetic-artistic, and ethical ideal that can ultimately offer a passage, beyond the impasses of late modernity, towards answering the question: what makes a personal and collective life good and how is it possible to lead it?
