It took me back to the era of the first one. Endless fun, beautiful map, nice story. There is nothing I can say was missing from the game. The only thing that gave me a hard time and was very annoying was the final boss.
Luckily, you can play it with the game pass because it is not worth buying. It's a shame the franchise got destroyed. I bought it on day one, finished it, and was disappointed. I would have been better off setting the money on fire
After many years, the next Halo has arrived and - fortunately - it has little to do with Halo 5: Guardians. Perhaps 343i was hoping that we would forget what we played.
In any case, Halo Infinite is very different from the previous two games, strictly focusing on Master Chief who is on the unexplored Zeta Halo. For the first time, the world is open and the player can go anywhere, but there is a clear mission order in the Campaign and some side missions that do not require much time. The balance is very good and the game reminds me more of a slightly more open Halo: Combat Evolved rather than an inflated Assassin's Creed.
The gameplay, especially with the addition of the Grappling Hook, is excellent. From exploration to the fortresses that Chief conquers and the boss fights, everything blends perfectly and the upgrades made to the various abilities are equally essential.
The plot is quite good and continues from Halo Wars 2, with Atriox at the center instead of the Guardians of Halo 5. It focuses more on Chief and what happens on Zeta Halo, rather than events concerning entire galaxies and the like - the scale is toned down, for the better. One could even call it a "soft reboot," as although there is continuity in the events (even events from Halo 5: Guardians are recognized), it avoids bringing them to the forefront too often.
Of course, the multiplayer is excellent - if not the best to date. The modes, the Forge, the gameplay, everything is top-notch. One aspect that required a lot of work initially was the progress in multiplayer, which was tied to challenges and therefore, very slow. However, the picture has completely changed now. On the one hand, the player's effort is rewarded much more generously, and on the other hand, rewards and customization have been greatly expanded since launch.
For me, as a fan of Halo, the complaints mainly have to do with the lack of variety in environments (e.g. no snowy landscape) and some technical issues (co-op came with a significant delay, for example). However, overall, it is an excellent package and I am excited to see where the story will go from here, as it brings back a spark that was completely absent from Halo 5.
The graphics are mediocre. There were some points where I got bored and felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again. The hook is a nice addition and has several applications. The thruster is indifferent, I only used it once to see what it does, and the threat sensor also only in a few cases with stealth enemies. Maybe the difficulty is to blame, as it was average even in the hard mode and I didn't need them. The skill updates don't offer anything special, so you don't have to search for tokens all over the map to unlock them, except maybe for the hook. The vehicle driving bothered me a lot when you hit something or fall from a height, how it behaved, to the point where I would give up and go on foot.
My review is about the campaign as that's why I played it. Also, I don't see myself playing it again because it doesn't have any standout feature in gameplay or even in its graphics that would make me want to go back for it.
A decent title overall, but (personally for me) definitely not something unique for the console, especially as an exclusive and considering the weight that this name carries for the console.
Incredible graphics, runs very well on the series x - I don't have an opinion on the other consoles.
Sound design 10/10, weapons/handling and gameplay 11/10 - it's addictive(!), what can we say now?
The only negative is that the story could have more substance, but it's definitely worth it and more.
Of course, the multiplayer is worth 200%
They killed the game. The campaign is ridiculous compared to previous titles. There is no atmosphere. The master chief is weak. The vehicles are essentially useless due to the terrain. You can't choose a track if you want to repeat it. Overall, I only have complaints. It's a shame, it was my favorite game.
The game is a must if you have an Xbox console, especially the next generation, no doubt about it. It was one of the best experiences I had recently. I won't say it's the best Halo game, but it's definitely close to it. They have done an exceptional job, and the truth is I didn't expect it from 343. Really, congratulations to them, they have filled us with hope for the revival of this outstanding game. The game now has a very nice story, exceptional lore, and addictive gameplay. The new additions are excellent and work perfectly, especially the whole open-world aspect. The sound is exceptional, the music is quite good, and the feeling it leaves you with is only positive. Seriously, don't miss it, especially if you are a fan of the Halo series! It's truly a gem on the Series X
Halo Infinite was purchased after I finished it on Gamepass. It had to be. It was so good. It's worth it as a game with the best controls and feel in an FPS game. Tip: lower the brightness in the game to at least -10. Graphics are very good and the sound is amazing. Open world without too much fuss and unnecessary elements like those in Ubisoft games that get tiring. This Halo is pure fun.
