Nier: Replicant ver.1.22474487139 or Nier: Replicant remake for short, is a Remake of the first game before the fantastic Nier: Automata. (1.22474487139 is the square root of 1.5)
The game is a remake of Nier: Replicant, a spin-off based on a joke ending of the game Drakenguard. As if that wasn't enough, the original game had two versions, with the only difference being that in the Western version you controlled the father instead of the brother of the girl (Nier: Gestalt or simply Nier).
In the prologue, you control a young boy in a world dying from a magical disease, who, in an attempt to protect his sick sister, makes a pact with a magical book. Many years later, the actual game begins, where you control a young boy in a world suffering from a magical disease, who, in an attempt to protect his sick sister, makes a pact with a magical book. The madness of creator Yoko Taro is evident from the start, with each village you encounter being stranger than the previous one and a story that darkens your soul as it progresses. Like in Taro's other games, to learn the true story and see the real ending, you have to finish the game multiple times, each time with differences that shed light on the story (routes). The only downside is the very slow start, as in the first half of the game, the bar hasn't been raised enough yet to make you interested in the Story. In this Remake, apart from some additional Sidequests, a part of the story that was cut in the original has been added, as well as an Extra Ending E after completing everything else.
The gameplay, which was the weak point of the first game, has been reworked to be closer to Automata, while still retaining the identity and all the mechanics of the first game, greatly improving them with the help of Platinum Games members. Every button responds instantly, you can now sprint, unleash magic from the air, switch weapons, and kill fallen enemies with just one button press, among other things.
The graphics are very good, and all character models have been rebuilt to resemble their concept art more. All dialogues are now voice acted, except for the Light Novel sections (those who have played it know), and the fantastic music has been re-recorded with a real orchestra. As for the backtracking in the game, now at least you have something beautiful to look at.
Finally, the game includes all the costumes and DLC, equally remade. If you are a fan of Nier Automata, this is a must. Some parts may feel dated, but it has an equally deep story if you complete all the endings, and now with good graphics, gameplay, and extra content to support it.

Hints for beginners:
* The beginning is slow, but after the middle of the game, an event occurs that cancels most of the sidequests you haven't done, and even the next routes start from the middle, so access to this part is lost forever. The game doesn't require you to do all the sidequests for achievements (in fact, it mocks you if you do too many), but some of them have very nice stories and some reward you with abilities. PRIORITIZE ALL WEAPONS FOR THE TRUE ENDING! I don't know if the weapons from part 1 will be available in Part 2.
* If an enemy falls to the ground, you can press "O" next to them to kill them instantly. It is useful for enemies with a lot of life or armor.
* If an enemy has Armor, try to break it with magic like Dark Hand, if many small enemies are gathered Dark phantasm, if they are scattered Dark Blast, and if they fill the arena with projectiles then use Dark wall. In short, experiment with magic!
* Your vine grows in real time. Don't bother with it more than once a day.
* For Ending A, simply finish the game.
For Ending B, finish the game on route B.
For Ending C & D, finish the game on route C having collected ALL 33 WEAPONS of the main game. Choose to kill the final boss for Ending C, or not kill it for Ending D, which deletes your save.
For the new Ending E, after completing Ending D, start a new game with a DIFFERENT NAME from the previous one. Once you reach the Boss Fight in the Aerie village, something different will happen and a new story will begin for Ending E, which will allow you to restore your lost save at the end.
