  The connection was made very easily without any problems, the packaging includes a separate base for the sensor in case someone doesn't want to install it. It was a pleasant surprise to see that it has a light sensor. While other companies offer separate light sensors. The response is immediate. I didn't expect anything less from Aqara despite its cost.

  Initial purchase of 4 sensors 3 years ago, the battery lasted all these years.
  Integrated into  homekit through aqara hub HomeKit version.
  The automations used were for turning on and off lights initially from aqara and then philips hue.
  It worked relatively well when turning on, although several times the lighting did not turn on...
  In the bathroom, there was automation for turning on the spotlights with a setting to turn off after 2 minutes...
  There, the ball was dropped because many times it would turn off half of the spotlights...
  The window traps work very well, as do the temperature sensors...
  The vibration sensor gives many false notifications...
  I replaced it with a hue sensor (triple the price) and it works perfectly.
  Update: 01/12/23
  (and the philips sensor eventually presents the same symptoms.)
  In general, aqara & xiaomi have a good success rate but also some inaccuracies, ideally though if you are starting now to create a smart home and you need several sensors, lights, switches, etc... due to cost.
  Ideally, start with hue if you can...

  I bought it for use with Apple Homekit and for its price, it is truly exceptional. Tiny, almost the size of a thumb, with a battery that lasts a year, but because it uses Zigbee for communication, you need to have an Aqara Hub compatible with Homekit (e.g. HM2-G01). If you don't have it, it cannot be used as a sensor.

  In the past, I tried Bluetooth motion sensors that were directly Homekit-compatible. However, they either had delays of several seconds or didn't work at all, regardless of settings/proximity to the hub, etc.

  In my case, the response time of this specific sensor (with Apple TV 4K) is instantaneous: less than a second, within a range of up to 7 meters.

  Before purchasing it, I would recommend paying attention to what others have pointed out: as soon as motion is detected, it stays permanently in the "motion detected" state for 1-2 minutes, regardless of whether you move or not. After that time, it functions normally again (e.g. motion absence detection).

  As a motion sensor and occupancy sensor, it works very well. The motion reset time is 60" and the occupancy reset time is 10 minutes, so depending on the automation we want to use it for, we take these times into account. Unfortunately, the light intensity (lux) sensor is completely unreliable, so I would suggest not considering it. There are more reliable ones from the same company.
