Description

It happened quickly. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die and another to be born.

First, the unthinkable: the breach of security systems in a secret U.S. government facility releases the monstrous result of a chilling military experiment. Then, the horror: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to the dawn of a nation, and ultimately a world, forever changed. All that remains for the survivors is the long struggle ahead and a future ruled by fear: a future overwhelmed by darkness and death...

As civilization collapses and from its ruins emerges a primitive landscape of hunters and the hunted, two people attempt to escape, seeking refuge: Brad Wolgast, an FBI agent, and Amy Harper, a six-year-old orphan, fugitive from the fateful scientific program. Wolgast is determined to protect her from the horror, but for Amy, the effort to escape is just the beginning of a much larger odyssey towards a time and place where she will be called upon to end something that should never have started.

"The Passage" is a breathtakingly thrilling adventure and an epic chronicle of human resilience in the face of unprecedented catastrophe and unimaginable danger. The imaginative narrative, superb writing, and insightful look into human nature characterize a monumental and transcendent work of contemporary science fiction.

Reviews

  • I read it 3-4 years ago. Since then, I haven't read anything worthy of it and I'm searching for it, to tell the truth. Amazing trilogy. Descriptions that don't tire you (okay, maybe a little), an incredible story that captivates you. Anyone who is a fan of fantasy MUST read all three of them.

  • Very good story, the whole trilogy must be read, in my opinion the first part is the best of the trilogy.

Perhaps one of the best books I have ever read. The whole trilogy keeps you in suspense, the setting unfolds in a world so realistic that it scares you and you don't want it to end. Fantastic.
