You turn it on, clean potatoes and fry them. Preheat for 10 minutes, cook for 12 minutes and you get a potato like the ones you buy, maybe even better. It holds 1.5 liters of oil and you can fry about 600 potatoes. It has a resistance at the bottom that is easy to clean. The basket is not detachable. I imagine you can fry without the basket for some loukoumades. It is an incredible purchase, square in shape and does not require much space. I would buy it as a gift, but now the aerofriers sell more
