I received a product from at least a decade ago (not from the modern furminator series). I happened to have a factory defect (crooked row of teeth) which unfortunately I noticed after removing it from the packaging, so be careful. I will come back after using it.

It doesn't even reach the undercoat, which is essentially what my cat is shedding the most and the reason why I bought this brush. I have to gently pinch/pull the tufts with my hand to relieve him and prevent him from swallowing them. Maybe if I had gotten the version for long-haired cats, it would have done a better job, but at the price that Furminator brushes are available, I won't experiment again and cry over the money I spent.

I used to brush my cat with a regular brush from the supermarket and it would remove a lot of hair, but still leave hair everywhere. The first time I brushed her with this tool, it removed about the same amount of hair as another whole cat. Since then, I brush her once every 1-2 days and it removes much less hair. The most important thing is that now, with regular brushing, she sheds MUCH less, meaning it hardly leaves any hair on clothes, even now that she's in heat. The difference in the softness of her fur is noticeable, it's like silk.
