This collection of international texts does not aim to replace the comprehensive collections of international treaties covering specific thematic areas of international law. It constitutes a selective collection of binding and non-binding texts concerning both international legal practice and diplomatic practice, as well as Greek foreign policy. The main objective of the third edition of this project remains the creation of a user-friendly tool for students who come into contact with the field of "International Public Law" and are called upon, before resolving practical issues in tutorial classes and exams, to realize and understand the particular nature and function of the international legal order.
The selection of texts was made with the aim of complementing the representations resulting from the study of relevant teaching manuals, in order to make the international reality more accessible and less complex. Some of the texts presented are fundamental, while others have been selected as indicative, without necessarily exhausting the various ways in which the legal will of the subjects of international law is expressed. In addition, where possible, the unofficial translation into Greek was chosen for those texts whose official translation is in Katharevousa (e.g. United Nations Charter, Statute of the International Court of Justice). The selection of texts is not limited to international conventional texts, but also includes legally non-binding international texts (see the second part) that have influenced or continue to influence the international legal order, and extends to acts of particular Greek interest (see the third part).
Finally, there are texts in English and French that are not always accompanied by a translation into Greek, as they are used in international diplomatic practice (e.g. document templates in the last part). Overall, this concise collection of international texts seeks to facilitate students' more effective understanding of international law and serves as a supplement to the teaching and study of related courses taught in Law Schools, Departments of International European Studies, Departments of Political Science and Public Administration, etc. Thessaloniki.
