In an era where the discussion about migration has intensified in all European countries, this collective volume brings together theoretical analyses and empirical investigations that shed light on aspects of the daily lives of migrant women (mainly domestic workers) in Greece today, as well as aspects of public policies and political discourse on migration in general. The almost exclusive focus on domestic work is linked to its prominent position in the analysis of contemporary welfare regimes, as well as contemporary gender relations. The theoretical approaches to migration over the past 25 years from a gender perspective are analyzed, the everyday experiences and practices of migrant women are presented, the gender dimensions of the migration and anti-racist movement in Greece are discussed, and the policies of the European Union on migration, asylum, and social inclusion are examined.
