Good pen, soft, I would like it to be bigger, but in something as subjective as a pen, don't rely only on one review, try all the pens until you find the one that suits you

Generally, the choice of a pick is subjective and the type of music the user plays, the desired tone, etc., play a big role. It's hard to say that "this pick is perfect".

However, this is the only pick so far for which I am writing a review. Before trying this pick, I had tried several and had been playing with the Dunlop nylon jazz III picks for a while, which are quite similar, while looking for something that suits me better.
On one hand, the sound of nylon is not the best in my opinion, on the other hand, the regular jazz III picks are too small for some hands, while the XL ones are too big, with no intermediate sizes. There are also jazz III picks in ultex that produce better sound, but they have the same problem with size and tend to slip from the hand more easily.
The John Petrucci jazz III pick is somewhat intermediate in size compared to the picks I mentioned earlier and has a slightly sharper shape, which I prefer. Also, the surface/texture of the pick and the slightly protruding logo make the pick stay well in the hand, especially compared to most ultex picks I have tried. It is clearly durable due to its thickness and if you don't lose them, they will last you a long time.

In the 30+ years that I have been playing the guitar, I have tried hundreds of picks. Choosing a pick is something very subjective and personal, both in terms of how it feels in your hand and how it sounds. As for the former, I won't say anything more than the fact that anyone who plays with regular-sized picks will need time to adjust to Jazz III picks (standard, not XL, which are larger). Personally, I have been playing with Jazz III picks for over 10 years.

I have bought and tried not only the Jazz III Ultex picks, but also several others of the same size from Dunlop. All the same size, all the same thickness. The shock was in the sound, personally I play 99% with clean sound. The Ultex picks had the fullest, most articulate sound, try them and judge for yourselves.

The only area where the Ultex picks fall behind the others I tried is in terms of how slippery they are. No, they are not as slippery as nylon or delrin picks, and the good thing about the Ultex picks is that as a material, it seems to have a tendency to "stick" to wet surfaces (e.g. when your fingers sweat, etc.). But still, the grip cannot be compared to the others that had a "rough" surface.

One of the best picks for Jazz III. They come in a pack of 6. Solid and powerful for a hard sound. I highly recommend them!

Very good pick, it has a good grip and helps a lot if you play metal or hard rock, as many songs require fast picking and alternative picking. Additionally, it facilitates pinch harmonics as it is small in size and quite hard

Quite a good pen. Good grip, easy picking. Also, the pack of 6 is economical.
