The mi smart bulb essential is the cheapest smart bulb from Xiaomi in the Greek market. For the price of €10, I believe it performs excellently.
1) Firstly, the installation and connection with the app takes about 2-3 minutes. (Below, I have a video explaining the process). I used the mi home app for testing. Once connected, it allows you to adjust the color temperature, brightness, and automatic color changing mode. Additionally, through the app, you can set a timer for it to turn off. Unfortunately, this function only has a 15-minute timer, which I would like to see changed.
2) The 9w version is quite bright... although the brightness decreases if you change the color temperature. The color temperature ranges from 1700 to 6500 degrees Kelvin. With the other color options, you can create a nice atmosphere for the desired space.
3) The connection range is more than satisfactory. With the Vodafone stock router for VDSL H300s, it can connect up to one floor below.
4) However, I would not recommend it as the main bulb in a room, but rather as a bulb in a spotlight or a lampshade. It is not capable of lighting up an entire room with sufficient light on its own. In conclusion, if you are looking for a bulb that will allow you to create your own atmosphere in the space, you can confidently consider it.

My rating is purely subjective as I prefer warm white color. Even when adjusting the lamp to emit warm white (around 2700K), the intensity is so low that it is unsuitable for a floor lamp. At 3000K and above, the intensity is satisfactory but still lower than expected. From what I understand, there is no RGBW lamp that has strong intensity in warm white, so it is better to get a separate smart LED 2700K.
The RGB part is great, it works perfectly, and has nice effects, although I couldn't synchronize the effects on two lamps to make them exactly the same without any phase difference.
UPDATE: I discovered the Ledvance lamps which are more powerful in intensity and have the same strong warm white as well as cool white. However, the app is quite inferior compared to Mi Home or Yeelight.
It comfortably illuminates a small living room in white. I don't remember it ever disconnecting.
Attention, it requires a 2.4ghz wifi frequency, not 5ghz!
I have bought two of these bulbs. I have had them for 2 years already without any problem. One is in the children's room and one is in a floor lamp in the living room. We mainly use the first one as a regular bulb, but many times we dim the intensity to help the children sleep or change colors to "have a party". In the living room, the lamp is permanently plugged in with the switch on, and I control it exclusively from my phone. It is very convenient because from a bright light, you can easily have a low intensity in any shade you want (from white to yellow or colored).
It is very good. Obviously, it is not a lamp to light up the entire space. It is for decorative lighting. The white light can provide enough coverage, while the warm and colored lights are only for a nice atmosphere.
Quite fair for its price, easy connection to the application and full functionality. Easy to use through the application and switch color, brightness, etc.
Perhaps it could have a little more brightness, specifically for the 2700K which is the typical warm light temperature, it could emit a little more brightness.
Terrible brightness, compared to the Yeelight bulb with fewer lumens (800) compared to this one which is supposed to be 910, when the Yeelight is at 10% brightness in white it is the same as 100%(!) of the brightness of this specific bulb. We're talking about a drastic difference that makes it unusable, especially for warm white.
Instead of a light fixture, it is the best thing to adjust it to whatever mood you want. It is worth a lot for the money. I have had it for a long time and it hasn't had any issues
I bought two and one of them burned out the red LED (resulting in only blue-green shades), the second one lasted for two months and still works perfectly
Excellent lamp, I have bought three so far and I am very satisfied. In the new version of the application that controls it, you can change the default setting (meaning when you turn it on from the switch, it can start directly in a different color) while before it always turned on in white and you had to change it afterwards. Long lifespan, excellent build quality.
I received it 2 days ago... for a space of 14sqm, essentially a bedroom with a desk. Quite satisfied so far... time will tell if it was worth its money.
I bought 2 of this product, already having the Xiaomi Mi Smart LED Bulb RGBW 9W, and I can confidently say that it is worth it! Good lighting (for ambiance, smart bulbs still can't fully light up rooms). One negative aspect is the XIaomi Home application, which does not have the same modes as Yeelight.
Nice colors, easy to use, but the servers are a bit terrible because they start removing them from many countries. Occasionally, they make some disconnections, but if you close and reopen the switch, they work again.
Quite a good bulb. It has nice colors. I have attached it to a bedside lamp in a guest room. The Xiaomi Home app for this specific bulb is easy but for some reason not very reliable. After a few minutes, the brightness decreases without me adjusting it and without selecting any of the available programs. Also, if I don't turn it on for a day, the app takes a while to open it. I press the ON icon but the bulb doesn't turn on. The white color is quite intense but not ideal like a non-smart bulb. The brightness decreases significantly in the other colors, but the result is still nice. I don't know if I would buy a smart LED bulb again. It's more of a gadget than a functional light source... meaning producing sufficient lighting in the room.
Supposedly the connection is easy. It is not.
It does not detect the device with Bluetooth so I scan the QR code. But then it takes many attempts to complete the connection.
It is only suitable for lamps because the intensity is mediocre.
It is incredible and I have not regretted at all trying it. I bought the same product and the lights are bright and perfect! I approve
When disconnected from the router, it does not reconnect again unless you reconnect it or the lamp is on in the country house, so it creates a problem
Very good, very easy installation and very good brightness. Personally, I use it on the front door with a schedule to blink at the hours I want, while I also operate it whenever I am away from home. Generally, I have it set to about 60% brightness and it is more than enough! It's worth it.
For some reason, it doesn't appear at all in Mi Home.
I tried selecting the China server, Singapore server, Germany server... Nothing. I also tried through the yeelight app, just in case... Nothing.
I spoke with Xiaomi Greece and they replaced it, thinking it was faulty, but the bulb is not the problem. And the next one doesn't appear either. For some reason, my Mi Home doesn't even have it in the list of products for manual connection.
Needless to say, the troubleshooting I did myself (reset, uninstall/reinstall, server changes, etc.) to make it work was 100 times more than what they asked for or knew how to do at the official representative.
Since no solution was found, I replaced it again with yeelight, like the rest of the bulbs in my house, which work just fine.
Excellent lamp! High-quality construction, easy connection and control via Mi Home and Google Home. As a secondary lighting, it is fantastic (table/floor lamp), but it could also function as the main lighting (ceiling fixture) in a small room.
In my opinion, it is better than the rest as it has a high brightness output, 950 lumens, and it is also RGBW (which means 4 LED bulbs, Red Green Blue White). This is very helpful when you want to illuminate the space with white light and don't need to rely on the combination of RGB, but have a specific white LED.
I will definitely purchase more!
Note: The nominal power in lumens is for the white LED, the RGB ones do not reach that level of brightness.

Overall excellent. In white color it illuminates like a 45-60 watt. The lm it claims reaches in very cool white.
You can choose what it will do when you turn off the switch (on/off) of the fixture you have, when it turns on again.
You can either choose the last state it was in, or a completely different - default state.
It connects relatively easily and quickly to the app (takes 1-3 seconds)
You may have some problems if you have multiple wifi routers in the same area or when it connects to the app from a different device each time (although I managed to control it from 3 mobile phones).
One aesthetic drawback is the strange shape and slightly large length of it - if it is of course in a visible spot.
The app also has fun programs, for example sunrise - it slowly lights up with the colors of the sunrise!
Exactly what I was looking for. Cheap, bright, RGB, with very beautiful colors and easy app for managing it
Supposedly it is compatible with Alexa. However, nowhere does the Greek representation mention any conditions. The response from the Xiaomi store was to try it in England, maybe it will work. The response from the Greek representation is unacceptable. (the manual does not mention anywhere that the connection is conditional)
So if you have a Xiaomi account and have set it to Greece, it will never be found by Alexa. If you set it to Singapore, then it will be found.
Note that if you change the country, you will have to reconnect all the devices from the beginning.
But even if it is constantly found, it will still be not responding, so it will not be usable.
I will try USA to see if it works, but I doubt it.
It can only be used through the application.
It is better to get something else.....
edit: in the three months that I have had it, at some point it worked with Alexa for 3 weeks and then suddenly nothing again. Even with the Xiaomi application, it has issues many times. It has become a simple lamp.

Many colors, you can play with the brightness and it is powerful. I am not satisfied at all because it disconnects almost every day, and the connection process takes about 3 to 5 minutes... it's not a little for every day...
Very good product regarding lighting. Plenty of colors and sufficient brightness to cover a 10 square meter room. However, where this specific lamp falls behind is the connection. Has Xiaomi not worked well on the software? Has it not worked well with the lamp in this aspect? I don't know. However, I do know that once a week it needs to be restarted because the lamp disconnects from the app and I can't use it. It has become very frustrating and if I didn't regret the 15 euros I spent on it, I would throw it away. I should note that my phone is also Xiaomi.
Quite bright for a floor lamp. The light power is not as strong for a ceiling lamp. Nice and vibrant colors, satisfied!
Attention!!! It cannot connect to MI home if you have it in Region (Chinese mainland) like me.

The installation is naturally easy (like screwing in a light bulb!), but connecting it to the phone to operate - for me at least - was a continuous problem, as the settings and the connection between the bulb and the phone were constantly lost. I initially tried it with the Umidigi A5 Pro, my son's Android 9 phone, and the exact same thing happened: it connected, worked, impressed us with the dimming, the easily selectable colors through the phone's application (Xiaomi), but then it lost connection with the phone and I had to reset it (turn the bulb switch on and off 5 times) for it to work again. I thought, okay, maybe it's the Chinese brand I got for my son or the Android 9. I then tried it with my own iPhone and the same application for iOS. The same mess: it connected but the next day it disconnected and needed a reset. If it's not something stupid that I did, it seems to be a bit difficult to use. If it does work, though, the result is beautiful and impressive.
It connected easily to both wifi and mobile. Nice colors and brightness. Stronger in white, less in other colors. Very easy to handle through the App. Definitely not suitable for main lighting. However, it adequately illuminates a bedroom but not, for example, for reading, etc
