For years, I avoided retinol as my skin has become very sensitive. However, I did some research because I wanted to try something that would help with the remaining marks. I started very cautiously, applying it once a week during the first week, twice a week during the second week, and three times a week from the third week onwards. I start with the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 serum, then a simple moisturizer without active ingredients, followed by the retinol, and finally, after it has absorbed, the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm. Of course, every morning I apply SPF 50 sunscreen. With these steps, three times a week, 2.5 months later, I saw a very satisfactory improvement in the marks. It didn't bother me at all, and my skin didn't dry out. It has a low concentration of retinol, as others have mentioned, but I think it's a good choice for those who are starting now or for those with sensitive skin. Overall, I have tried many products for the issue I have with marks, and I have concluded that the best results are achieved with the following:
1. Sunscreen every day, winter or summer, even if there is no sun.
2. Vitamin C serum.
3. Retinol serum.
*I haven't seen any results on wrinkles, at least not yet.
*My skin is combination (oily in the summer and drier in the winter)
Nothing exceptional. The company does not mention the percentage of retinol in the product nor its type. I will not buy it again.
I started it 10 days ago with daily direct use. Although it is my first time using retinol, my skin did not have any reaction and I can say that I already see visible differences. The whiteness of the skin has been enhanced and smoothed. Of course, I do layering with face mist, night cream so the face is hydrated. I use SPF 50 sunscreen all year round.
First time I used retinol! I was very lucky to choose this specific one. After three months of use, I have to admit that my skin has improved a lot. It has a glow and I no longer have discolorations. I am 40 years old and I really didn't expect such results on my skin. With a good moisturizer from the same company, I also avoided intense peeling.
First time using retinol. I am 28 and I was starting to see the first signs that tell me I am approaching 30. I have been using it for a month, twice a week. Good washing with moisturizing soap and sunscreen every morning. At night when I apply retinol, I wash my face and let it dry. I leave the retinol for 20 minutes and then apply La Roche Cicaplast moisturizer. I have seen tremendous difference especially when I put on makeup, everything goes on beautifully and my skin is wonderful, blackheads have reduced and it's like I have put on some kind of filter. Basically, I like my face without makeup! However, I must note, at some point I had some small red pimples but I think it may also be due to hydration. But they go away immediately! If it has such a result, I imagine what it will do in the long run!
Light texture, with a neutral scent. Apply only at night. Gradually, not daily at first! Definitely use sunscreen in the morning! It spreads easily and leaves a nice feeling on the skin, without necessarily needing moisturizer afterwards. After using for 1 month, I see a reduction in black spots and a more radiant skin. It is a product that is worth its money!
I have been using it for a month, and I have seen a reduction in black spots, but they haven't completely disappeared. Maybe it needs more time since I only use it twice a week. I also feel like it has reduced the wrinkles on my forehead, but because it's winter and they are not very visible now, I'm not sure. I will have a better opinion in the summer when they become more prominent. As for wrinkles, I haven't seen any difference yet, but I only have a few and they are superficial, so I don't know how much of a difference it would make. I am 37 years old. I will come back next month.

Very nice! It made my skin smooth and the marks are disappearing very quickly now! I apply it twice a week, it requires very little quantity and so far I haven't had any irritation! I will buy it again
First time using retinol, just finished the first bottle.
Normal to combination skin.
I started applying it once a week to see if my skin tolerates it well, then increased to twice a week and now I'm at three times.
I use it at night, wait for about ten minutes, and then apply a hyaluronic moisturizer from the same brand.
It hasn't caused any irritation and my face has cleared up completely. It has given my skin a smooth appearance. Generally, the results of retinol become visible after 3-6 months depending on usage, so it requires patience.
I should note that I don't have wrinkles or acne, I have a fairly good skin base, so I'm always speaking from my own experience.
After doing some research, I found out that it shouldn't be combined with other acids (except hyaluronic) in the same routine. In the morning, after cleansing, you can use vitamin C but not together.
The use of retinol requires a strong sunscreen, and I have chosen one with SPF 50 from the same brand, which I use every morning.
Exfoliation once a week is necessary when using retinol.
For sensitive or dry skin, it might be better to choose a retinol cream.
Do not apply retinol serum and retinol cream simultaneously.
The best product I have bought so far at the age of 47. I would buy it again and again, it is worth the money. It cleared my face from blemishes and made it more radiant without any side effects, simply perfect!

It is quite heavy retinol, it causes breakouts and dryness. Maybe it is more suitable for ages 35+.
One of the best products I have tried. I am 51 years old and have started using retinol for the first time. My skin is normal with a few superficial wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows, but I have discoloration and dull skin. The results in the 2 weeks that I have been using it are incredible. The wrinkles between the eyebrows have almost disappeared and the ones on the forehead have softened by about 80%, my skin has become smooth and radiant, and I have already noticed a difference in the discoloration. I apply it at night after a good cleanse on dry skin, then I apply the moisturizer in the morning after rinsing off, I use the hyaluronic acid from the same brand, day cream, and SPF 50 sunscreen. It is worth trying.

It's worth every euro and it's still economical if you think about the difference I saw in the firmness of my skin and the reduction of a deep expression wrinkle that I have had since I was young. I am 35 years old and I apply a small amount of the serum every night after cleansing and after warming it in my fingers. It is immediately absorbed by my combination skin and has a pleasant scent. I have had it for a month and I am very satisfied so far. I don't know if it has helped my skin because that will be evident over time, but I am happy because it sits nicely on my skin and smells nice. I recommend if it causes a little tingling immediately after application and if you have normal skin, to apply the La Roche Cicaplast after your moisturizer to better retain moisture
Very good face serum, the next day my skin looked healthy and firm. The only negative is that retinol requires caution in the summer, good rinsing in the morning (you apply it at night) and a high SPF in sunscreen.
This particular product, on my own skin initially, after some use, gave a feeling of dryness. Then I realized that it is very important to do a cleansing at least once a week, either with a peeling or a cleansing mask, in order to remove dead cells and then use a moisturizing mask or cream. This way it performs better without creating a feeling of dryness. I will buy it again
Both the reviews and the perfect texture, combined with the wonderful feeling it left me with after application, did not betray what would happen in the following hours and days.
Unfortunately, even though I combined it with a sufficient amount of moisturizer the same evening, shortly after the serum, purely for preventive reasons, and the next day I also used a generous amount of sunscreen with repetitions, even though I was minimally exposed to the sun, the result was complete dehydration of my skin.
The irritation is unbelievable, the only thing that relieves me is cold water, any other healing product has a bad reaction.
I look at myself in the mirror and it's as if I aged 40 years (I'm 31).

The percentage of retinol is not mentioned. I have been using it diligently for 2 months. I do cleansing and exfoliation, however, I do not see any results. The retinol it contains must be minimal. I will not buy it again. After researching, we should start with 0.1 or 0.3 percentage of retinol very carefully to avoid irritations. Two to three times a week for the first month of application. It is good to use it alone and not mix it with vitamin C or salicylic acid (hyaluronic acid is okay). Never on wet skin. Sunscreen is a must every day.
Very nice retinol serum, very lightweight, absorbs immediately and most importantly it didn't cause me any irritation at all. Of course, we always take our precautions, which means we don't neglect sunscreen and we also use a moisturizer because the serum alone is not hydrating.
The only reason I give it 4 stars and won't repurchase it, just like any other La Roche-Posay product, is that the company's products are not cruelty-free, which is extremely important to me.
For anyone who doesn't care, it's a good product to start with retinol.
One of the best and affordable retinols on the market. I don't have any issues with my skin, yet the difference after 1 year of use is significant - from the first month, I noticed a visible difference in texture. Skin is brighter and more elastic, some hyperpigmentation around the mouth has disappeared. I'm 34 and I use it daily for maintenance and anti-aging. I don't have expression wrinkles yet, but I think it has restored elasticity to my skin and it feels more supple!
The best thing I have ever put on my face, instant results, even the red marks and imperfections disappeared, the fine lines, while I never went out without makeup, now my face is cleaner than ever!! It's worth its money!!!
It has a very nice texture and absorbs easily! With proper use, it didn't cause me any side effects... just a little bit of peeling on the skin after 1-2 months of use, but still limited. Now, as for the results... it will be seen in the future!
I have been using the serum for 3 months now and I am approaching 40. Having rosacea, I introduced retinol very slowly and carefully. Even now, I use it only 3 nights a week, but even with such a small amount, the positive results have become noticeable. Two drops are enough for the entire face. I see my skin and I am delighted. It is smoother, has a more even tone, and appears fuller. I can't wait to see how it will be at the 6-month mark. From my experience, it is a product worth it.
Update: After 7 months, I now use it every night. I haven't experienced any peeling. My skin has become smooth and radiant. It gets a perfect 10 from me, but it definitely requires several months of consistent use to see results.
I have used retinol from another company before and the truth is that I saw various results from the very first day... I started using this specific one a week ago, but I don't like the result it leaves. Maybe it's still early... However, my skin feels more oily and I haven't seen it helping much with acne and fine lines.
I bought it for the acne that appeared about 6 months ago after pregnancy. I use it every night after cleansing (double, first with Korres oil and then with cleansing gel) for the past 3 months. Now I have very few new pimples and the red marks from previous pimples have almost disappeared. I have noticed a difference in the tone and texture of my skin, it is smoother and fine lines are less visible. Be careful not to apply it around the mouth as it may cause dryness. I apply moisturizer around my eyes and mouth before using it. I only apply it at night and the next day it definitely needs sunscreen. It has a nice texture, spreads easily, and absorbs quickly. It doesn't have a strong scent. You don't need a large amount, it works with just a few drops.
I got it as a gift for my mom (44), she has never used retinol before and she was thrilled. It didn't cause any irritation to her and it did a wonderful job.

Let me give you a tip, you must exfoliate at least twice a week, otherwise whatever you put on won't work, and definitely use sunscreen even when it's cloudy.
