Bhagavad Gita literally means "Song of the Lord". It is a part of the Indian epic Mahabharata, where Krishna imparts deep spiritual teachings to his disciple Arjuna and urges him to participate in the battle, which is a struggle against the forces of evil, or one's lower self. There, Krishna wonderfully presents the various yogas (karma, jnana, bhakti, etc.) and in the end reveals to the astonished Arjuna his divine nature, as a divine incarnation (avatar).

The Bhagavad Gita has been a source of inspiration for countless generations and for people of all kinds: commentators, philosophers, as well as ordinary people all over the world. Everyone has been inspired by its truths and teachings regarding the nature of the universe and the human being.
