No relation to the corresponding dark-colored one. Much lighter, it doesn't scratch easily, that's true, but it warped from use and temperature, it has swollen in the center. If you want a pan from this series, get the dark one. Also, I don't know, but the old dark one I had with its handle, it still holds up, for 5 years now. The handle of the green one broke twice, meaning it doesn't open or close. I don't know how to explain this.
