Description

Of the three "Critiques" by Kant that laid the foundations for philosophical thought in the late 18th century, and opened up new principles for the great movement of German Idealism, the "Critique of Pure Reason" (1781A, 1787B), the "Critique of Practical Reason" (1788), and the "Critique of Judgment" (1790), the first "Critique" is certainly the most well-known but also the least popular, because it deeply exposes deeply rooted cognitive biases and forces thought to follow new paths that often lead to an impenetrable forest of conceptual terms and forms, for which a specialized guide and rich interpretive commentary are needed.

And yet, this "Critique" introduces so methodically into epistemological, ontological, cosmological, and methodological issues, that despite its obscurity and dependence on the spirit, terms, and conceptual language of the era in which it was written, it still serves today as an excellent means of philosophical orientation and a reliable guide through the intricate paths and deadlocks that philosophical thought ended up in, every time it wanted to ignore human capacities and their limits.

In a inherently difficult and demanding subject, which requires the maximum concentration of the reader, the worst translation and minimal subsequent editing of the text has been done. Result: the consumption in the effort of readability of the text, to the detriment of the effort of understanding and assimilation of the concepts. The flaws in the translation are indirectly recognized by the translator, with continuous references-citations to the original text. (maybe to try and translate ourselves. better...)
