Description

In the upcoming sessions, I will not only talk to you about theory, as all of you work in the field of education and the connection between theory and practice is of great importance to you. We will talk about cases of problematic children, or you will talk about some cases, so that we can then discuss together how we can help such a child. We should not overlook the most important point, which is how we will connect the child with the school, how we will awaken their interest in it. It is also important to know what school means in a child's life, in a nation's life. We should not forget that it is a continuation of family care.

If the family was able to educate the child correctly, then the school would be unnecessary. You know from the historical evolution of the school that there were times when there was no school yet, where family education was sufficient. However, even in that era, various institutions prevailed, such as the children of families belonging to the highest classes of society attending princely schools, where they learned the art of governance and administration.

Later, it was the church that established schools for its own interests, schools that promoted knowledge to a degree sufficient for the needs of the church and the state. The school developed organically tied to the needs of the people. Its structure was always what the needs of society, the needs of developed commerce and developed technology demanded. And then the necessity of a popular (elementary) school emerged.

The elementary school took various forms depending on the demands of the governing powers. And even today we still face the question of how a school should be organized. However, an undeniable fact is that the school should be considered the foundation of all education. The mission of the school is: How to shape individuals who will continue to work autonomously in their lives, who will perceive all socially necessary demands not as foreign but as their own matter, so that they can participate as collaborators.

The ideal of a nation reaches as far as the family. It is obvious that within the family and the school, appropriate measures should be taken so that later, after school, we encounter individuals suitable for the community.
