All in Greece is "alive", being invented every moment and improvisation still prevails - a year before the new millennium - over programmatic movements.
So where does all this activity go? From what expectations does it arise? And why does it struggle to create something stable that lasts beyond what happens from scene to scene, from day to day?
These questions concerned me then, they still concern me today, but in a different way. Then I believed that people knowing how to coexist is mainly a matter of social organization and regulations. Today, I have the impression that it is a matter of art. This art is not unknown in our country. We inevitably learn it from time to time in order to forget it and then search for it again anxiously. The study that the reader has in his hands belongs to the effort to keep it close to us - and not to be the phase of another cycle.
