Description

In the context of theoretical calculations, the differences between Newton's physics and the General Theory of Relativity arise only when the ratio of gravitational phenomena exceeds a few percentage units. Since in the context of a homogeneous system like our planet, the gravitational constant (G) remains very small and the speed of light (c) is very large, the ratio of gravity (α) is extremely small in everyday terrestrial conditions.
The predictions of the General Theory of Relativity begin to differ from the results of Newtonian physics calculations only when dealing with bodies of excessively large mass.
All references in the pages of this book are related to regions of spacetime where the parameter (α) of the ratio of gravity acquires significant magnitude.
In other words, most of the book deals with regions of curved spacetime beyond the boundaries of our solar system, in the vastness of the Universe, which hosts clusters of galaxies, white dwarfs, pulsars, black holes, quasars, and other exotic celestial bodies.
In this book, Dr. John Griffin explores, based on the Theory of Relativity, all the consequences of spacetime concepts on the arrangement and structure of the Universe.
