The book "Archives and Law" concerns the branch of archives law. It covers the new Law 4610/2019 on the General State Archives, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation 679/2016 on the processing of personal data in archival material (archiving for public interest and the right to be forgotten), Directive 790/2019 on intellectual property (provisions for works not available in commerce, mass digitization of works in archives, libraries, museums, exceptions for text and data mining, etc.), and Law 3028/2002 as applied to archives as cultural goods.

The book aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the provisions concerning archives in Greece today, but many of the above provisions also have direct application to libraries and museums. It is therefore of interest not only to archivists, but also to librarians and museum professionals.
