Description

This book is not an autobiography, although it may seem like one. Nor is it a historical text, although it may seem like one. And it would be wrong to consider it an essay, although it may seem like one. However, it is not a literary text, although it may seem like one. One could call it a Chronicle, but it does not record the events in detail. It is an arbitrary and largely emotional selection of only a few of the many incidents, sometimes completely humorous and sometimes hilariously tragic, that occurred in the difficult life of a poor Greek. And they are recommended for reading, not because the life of this particular Greek deserves to be biographed, quite the opposite in fact, but because he happened to be a very typical representative of the so-called "lost generation". Those who were children in the war, teenagers in the civil war, young men in the first Karmanli period, men simply during the dictatorship, and today, when everything is collapsing, whether mature or crumbling men, ready for reaping or demolishing.

The person who signs these texts happened to live through this entire difficult period for Greece from within and experience situations that often far exceed the limits of realism, to touch those of surrealism. In a way, these texts are the surreal story of modern Greece. In a first form, they were published in the newspaper "Ethnos". In this volume, they are presented in a more refined second writing.
