If your stove has this protective mesh in the photo, it will smell indoors. By carefully removing it, the burning becomes more perfect and the smell stops. It makes a big difference.
It is what it seems and does its job just fine. I bought it solely for heating backup in case of a power outage during winter. Combined with a 10kg gas cylinder, I calculated that it provides 40-55 hours of heating. I tested it for a few hours this year and everything is good.
