It starts off very nicely, ideally, better than the original 1999 title - with the exception of the old intro with Jill's monologue, which is one of the strongest intros in gaming history. In the beginning, it is exceptional, until you gradually reach the power plant, where it "changes its lights" and becomes... From that point onwards, it reminds us a bit of the old title.
Overall, they made many changes, tried to innovate, and in some areas, they made a great leap forward (such as the Hospital, which is a much better environment than the old one). But... Unfortunately, they didn't create the same masterpiece as the RE 2 Remake.
Why:
The game is quite short. A lot of content was cut from the city (clock tower, factory, newspapers building, park).
Old enemies like the worm do not appear and puzzle solving is almost nonexistent.
Nemesis is overly ridiculous with his newer transformations. He became something like the new William Birkin.
The last two battles with Nemesis are tragically cheap: one hit kill and enemies appearing out of nowhere. Try it on nightmare and hardcore, without the super weapons with unlimited ammo, and you will remember me.
However:
The effort they put into certain areas, the graphics, character design (except for Carlos), soundtrack, and the overall good gameplay (except for the unstable evasion) are its strong points, which make it a good title compared to other games.
For its current price, it is worth having in your library.

The following review is from someone who has not played the original Resident Evil 3.
This is the first time I try a Resident Evil game. I chose 3 because it is a short game (9-12 hours).
The game became platinum after 20 hours.
It was my first contact with the franchise. I admit that I really liked the game overall, although it had several flaws.
I liked the story as an idea, but I felt like someone cut it in many parts. It felt like they wanted to release it earlier after the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake to make more money.
Nemesis is an extremely well-made villain, but they overused him to the point where you don't want to see him anymore.
The graphics were excellent! The landscapes, the cities, the "decay," the design of the characters (zombies and non-zombies), EVERYTHING.
The soundtrack was quite indifferent (well, you don't expect something essential from a survival horror game).
The characters were well-written despite the unhelpful story.
I really liked the gameplay, especially in the first playthrough. It didn't let you rest at all, only intensity. The game world pushes you to discover more and more of its hidden secrets, besides finding the basic things for the story (e.g., weapons, objects that open other areas, etc.). The realism of the weapons was decent, as well as the interaction with the mindless enemies (zombies). However, sometimes the dodge system and Carlos' "parry" don't work properly, to the point of being annoying.
Overall, I probably played the game 7-8 times, with many speedruns. I won't hide it, even though I achieved Platinum, I played it again and again because the game is designed in a way that "forces" you to do speedruns. You want to finish the game faster and faster.
The price for what it is (20 euros) is relatively okay. However, for someone who will only play it once, I think they will be disappointed to spend 20 euros on a game that is not even 12 hours long.
Simply a great game, especially for the price you can find it now. I highly recommend it to everyone.
For those who want to get it, I just suggest playing the 2 first and generally within a short period of time from one to the other.
One of the very nice resident evil. Nice story, tremendous atmosphere throughout. The only negative is that it will seem very small to you.
Before I write my opinion, I would like to point out that this is the first time I have played Resident Evil, so unfortunately I do not have a point of comparison, like many who have loved this particular title for years.
However, Capcom is a guarantee in the technical field, as this particular remake has very good graphics with an emphasis on detailed character and monster design, the sound and lighting are excellent at all levels, and of course the highlight of the game is Nemesis, which truly creates a strong sense of fear and pursuit when he chases you in the various stages of the game.
However, the plot and overall story are very mediocre, apart from the main characters Jill and Carlos, the story is not enriched with other characters to give it depth, the game is short in terms of gameplay time (I mean 10 hours total gameplay, and that's being generous), and everything revolves around the hunt and fight with enemies.
On the plus side, the zombies are really hidden in many unsuspecting corners and they cause quite a few jumpscares for a player!
Also, the mechanics are classic with the ability to combine and store the items that the game offers you.
The puzzles are generally few and of moderate difficulty.
Finally, it includes an extra game called RE Resistance, for which I have no opinion because I did not engage with it at all.
In summary, at €20 I think it is a decent price to spend 8 hours of enjoyable time, but without having high expectations.
The technical aspect will satisfy you up to a certain point.
I would not pay any more money for this particular title.
Nice little game with good action and decent graphics!! At first, it was a bit boring, but then it became interesting. I didn't like the ending, I expected more battles, and the biggest negative of the game is its excessively short duration, only 7 hours. I finished it!! And the cheapest price for it in Cyprus is 30 euros, I bought it for that price, couldn't find it cheaper and brand new!! It definitely isn't worth its money, not even the 30 euros I paid! 6/10 rating for its price and its quite short duration, I don't recommend it
At the current price of 20€, you should buy it with your eyes closed. It is recommended to have also played the remake of Resident Evil 2 as the games are interconnected and happen simultaneously. Tremendous atmosphere, excellent story and gameplay, accompanied by nice graphics. Its duration is relatively short (it took me 7.30 hours to finish it) but the overall result more than compensates for it. I highly recommend it, especially at the price it has now.
I have to say that I didn't expect them to ruin the 3 like this. The previous one was much better and it was trying. This one is only 6 hours long and not worth it at all. It's better to borrow it from someone else than to waste your money on it.

In my opinion, it is much better than the remastered Resident Evil 2. At least in terms of graphics and physics.
It definitely doesn't reach the level of IV, but it has decent graphics and you can enjoy it just fine. The characters are good and have depth.
While I gave up on 2, I got hooked on this one, so I recommend it. Recommended price is 15-20 euros. Not more.

It doesn't have many puzzles. It has been my favorite title for years. I also ordered Res2, which will probably arrive tomorrow, 31/12/2021, so I know how the new year will find me.
Starting by mentioning that I am a big fan of the Resident Evil series, since 1998 when I first saw the original Resident Evil 2 running on the first PlayStation. With the exception of Resident Evil 6 and some spin-offs, I bought the Resident Evil 3 remake for €25, and it is the only numbered episode that I haven't played. I haven't finished it yet, but so far it seems very good. The gameplay and atmosphere of the game are very good, as befits the series. The sound is also wonderful, with the classic melodies playing at the right moments and in the right way. Here I should mention that I am playing the game on the PS5 and my opinion is purely from this console. In conclusion, for €20-25, it is worth it and more, considering the shorter duration of the game than what they say. I recommend it to those who have never dealt with the series. Finally, I have prepared a quick video of the unboxing in case someone wants to see the contents
Did I enjoy it, awesome game? Graphics, gameplay, etc. exactly the same as the remake 2 with 2 additional mechanisms in gameplay. It's short in duration, it took me 7 hours on standard. I haven't played the original so I don't have an opinion on the cut material. It's not as horror as 2, it was more action. The RC setting before/after the events of 2 is very nice. It's a steal at 20-25€!!!
Simply good throughout the game, you only fight with one opponent, not to mention that it is also small, not even 5 hours of full searching.
The game has the same graphics as the second one, but it didn't keep me engaged like the second one. It wasn't purely horror, it had quite a few action features compared to the original, and it was very short!
I have nothing more to add than what has been said about Resi3. However, I believe that at the current price (~25€), it is worth it and more. It may have left out significant things, but it is the first Resident (after the first one almost twenty years ago!) that I finish and it doesn't leave me with the feeling that the game had a huge gap until it reached the end! It has a flow from the beginning to the end and I really haven't felt this way with a game from the series in a long time!
Nice game but small, guys.... I didn't even download the multiplayer, so I don't have an opinion on it. The graphics and character movement are better than the RE2 remake, but it lacks in other aspects. It's small, come on.... For a 20-dollar game, it's good, I bought it for 30 and finished it in 7.5 hours without rushing.
As a game in general, it is good... nice graphics, nice story, nice boss... but as a remake... FAILURE.... I knew they had cut parts, but I didn't expect so many... almost all puzzles are missing... entire areas like the clock tower, the cemetery, the police department, etc... I wanted to know what... they were thinking when they made it... I simply think they released it to grab whatever they could from the remake of Res2 and from the fans... If you just want to remember Nemesis a little and have it in your collection, it's worth getting, but definitely not for more than 20-25 euros (I got it from the PS Store for 19 euros because it was on sale and due to lockdown)

Nice game overall! The remake, of course, doesn't have the same glory as the original like most remakes!
Well, the graphics are very good! Fires everywhere, crashed cars, corpses left and right, and half-destroyed buildings compose the Raccoon City as we experienced it about 20 years ago in a much better representation!
There aren't particularly challenging puzzles, and the ones that exist are relatively easy to solve without being tiresome. The gameplay is good, but compared to the remake of 2, it falls behind. For example, in 2, the main weapons were on the D-pad and L2, while secondary weapons (knife or grenades) were on L1, whereas in the remake of 3, all weapons must be on L2 only and the D-pad! This makes you constantly open the inventory and it gets a bit tiring!
In terms of combat, it also falls behind compared to 2, where shooting at the hand would cause damage and it could be severed! In 3, there's nothing like that (I don't know, maybe they did it to lighten the game as it was straining the consoles)! The only thing it has is the head explosion! Also, sometimes when you press to reload, the square button glitches and doesn't execute the command!
The Nemesis is relatively easy wherever you encounter him, and you can engage without fear! There aren't many liquors, only one or two times, and then only zombies. There are plenty of weapons and enough ammunition, as well as crafting materials to make what you need, just as it serves you. You shoot as if you're at a Cretan wedding in a mountain village! Also, you collect points and get nice weapons, not just for new rounds, which is a positive aspect!
Overall, I recommend it for the current price (25 euros), it's worth it! It has integrated multiplayer. I completed it on medium difficulty in 6 hours of initial gameplay, and I thoroughly explored all areas as a compulsive gamer! I gave it 5 stars because it awakened memories from the 2000 era, otherwise, I would have given it 4 stars, but it's okay!
One negative thing I find is that it doesn't have a second character storyline. It is an improvement from the old one, but let's not forget that.
You don't have to wander aimlessly around the same area to solve a puzzle. The puzzles it has are simple and quick. They are quite challenging even in the easy mode. You should see it, it's worth every minute
In the technical aspect, it is quite good, but when many areas are cut from the original that were beloved by many, such as the majority of the clock tower, the graveyard, the raccoon city park, etc., plus the fact that some characters had completely anticlimactic endings, it doesn't leave me room to rate it higher. Being a fan of the Resident Evil series and having played the original titles countless times on the PS1, I have to say the following. Personally, I really liked the game. The graphics, gameplay, and sound are incredible. The scenes where Nemesis chases you remind me of a movie. It is very atmospheric and has an excellent soundtrack, with some themes from the original game. It is the definition of survival horror, combining thriller and action elements at certain points. The character of Jill is wonderful in my opinion. Before playing it, I had heard a lot about the game's duration. Personally, I finished it in 7 1/2 hours, with a lot of exploration in all areas to collect all the rewards, etc., as I believe these games should be played. Let's not forget that the original game didn't last much longer. It's just that, in my opinion, because it's such a great game, they could have added the clock tower, which was one of the best levels in the original, and some puzzles to increase its duration a bit more. That could have been done. Now, as for the comparison with the RE2 remake, RE2 has always been superior to 3, and the same is true now.
Good overall, but it wasn't what I expected, as I had it in my mind, it's worth adding to your collection though!

Having played re3 in 1999 and being 12 years old, I remember being scared in a jumpscare where a door opened and 3-4 zombies jumped out. It starts off following the footsteps of the old re game, but ends up being a different game and story. To tell the truth, it probably wanted to answer questions from re2 regarding the police department rather than copying re3. Even Nemesis, who personally terrified me just by hearing "STARS," seemed a bit ridiculous in terms of his mutation, even amphibious...
What the previous reviewers have said is true, it is short, but the graphics, sound, and controls are flawless.
* As for resistance, it tried to copy outbreak, which was one of my favorites on the ps2, but also something between Friday 13 and dead by daylight.
As a fan of Resident Evil, having completed all of them (not just the series), I have the following to say about the remake of 3:
1. The graphics are exceptional and slightly better than the remake of 2. The gameplay also includes 1-2 moves that allow you to avoid zombies, etc.
2. The story is good, but quite different from the original RE3 from 1999. I can't understand why they would change it so much.
3. The flow of the game becomes comical at times, with hordes of zombies and Nemesis transforming into something like a bird. The tragic part is that no matter how many headshots you make, nothing happens, forcing you to constantly run.
In my opinion, as well as the opinion of fans in their 30s and nostalgic fans of the series, RE2 was the best of all, and its remake is definitely worth buying. The evolution of the storyline, the mystery, the darkness, the effects, the silent tyrant whose footsteps you can hear before he suddenly appears in front of you, etc., cannot be compared to this "zombie land" of the RE3 remake. I hope the same team will make an equally successful remake of RE1 in this style. If you are considering buying this game now, I suggest waiting for it to drop to $20, just for the collection.
I was moved just by playing it and it reminded me of my childhood years from Resident Evil 3 in 1999... Very nice and I like how the story intertwines with the Resident Evil 2 remake!!! P.S. The controls in these games are more suitable for a computer rather than a PlayStation. The proper control for such a game is like Resident Evil 3 on PlayStation 1

A very nice little game. It was what I expected, I didn't have crazy expectations. The Remake of 2 showed the way in a series that sells and I think they should use it. For younger players who haven't played the classics, it's a great opportunity not to be missed. For older players, some may be bothered by the duration and cuts in the game. For me, the price shouldn't be more than 15 euros simply because of the duration, but also because the scenario was ready, the graphics were ready from 7 and 2. Other than that, it's a game that should be in everyone's collection.
