When I heard the blues voice of Giorgos Margaritis singing, I said to myself: "This is sorrow!". A great longing that becomes mental torment and pain. His hoarseness comes from far away, an evolutionary voice of folk troubadour ancestors: reapers and harvesters, shepherds, builders, wandering minstrels who proclaim their wealth in the villages and charm the ladies, workers in factories and ports of the world.
Giorgos is distinguished by a strong sense of duty. He was shaped under the heavy shadow of giants, Kazantzidis and Bithikotsis. His natural folk modesty did not allow him to show his abilities earlier. However, for the worthy ones, it is never too late. When the time came, he spoke directly to the hearts of the Greeks, who consider him their own person, a precious friend, a member of their family.
