Description

Among the many Dictionaries of the Ancient Greek Language that are available, we wanted to provide high school students, and especially those taking elective courses in the third group, with a user-friendly dictionary.

This Dictionary is orthographic, interpretative, and etymological. One of the best in its kind, it has been continuously improved and revised for twenty-five years since its first edition.

It includes and interprets words found in the writings of notable ancient Greek prose writers who wrote in the Attic dialect. Therefore, it does not include words from poets, Herodotean words, and words from later authors, except for a few. It also does not include words that have the same meaning in both ancient and modern Greek, such as: athlete, merchandise, lament, hut, disease, juice, wheel, etc.
