In the multilingual and richly illustrated edition, thirty presentations by the world's most important scholars of the work of Domenikos Theotokopoulos are included, which were presented at the two conferences held in Heraklion and Athens in 2014, on the occasion of the events commemorating the 400 years since the death of the great Cretan painter. The material of the volume is divided into two main sections ("The Years in Crete" and "From Crete to Venice, Rome, and Toledo"), while special studies are dedicated to the problems related to the "Modena Triptych" and the "Laocoön".
