Description

In 2007, R. Dawkins, D. Dennett, S. Harris, and C. Hitchens recorded their landmark discussion on contemporary atheism. Now, in its first printed edition, their recorded and transcribed conversation is enriched with new essays from three of the original participants, as well as a foreword by Stephen Fry.

At the dawn of the new atheist movement, these thinkers, known as the "four horsemen," the heralds of the deconstruction of religion, enjoyed their cocktail around a round table. What followed was a thorough, groundbreaking, and captivating discussion that quickly became popular on social media, with millions of views. It was intellectual exploration at its best: enjoyable, humorous, and unpredictable, sincere and investigative, reminding us of the diverse and multidimensional threads of contemporary atheism.

What was said by the "four horsemen," as they agreed and disagreed with each other, shed light on ideas about the supernatural and religion, science and rationality, spirituality and religious faith, the constituent elements of true ethical life, and sounded the alarm for our present era.

One-third of the book consists of the authors' introductions, and the other two-thirds are the discussion that the four of them had at Hitchens' house. It is a small booklet that is easy to read, but also very superficial.
