Purchase at €98. I can say it's the best value for money. The colors and the AMOLED screen are of the same quality as the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Battery lasts about 3 days with regular use. Now let's get to the basics.
1) The watch does not have a Greek menu. It only has English. It reads Greek letters normally and shows all Greek notifications without any problem.
2) The Amazfit Watch app on the phone has many options for watch settings. After the latest update, the app is available in Greek.
3) Notifications from all social media and calls - SMS work normally. The watch has sound and vibration. Also, the app icons work normally.
4) You can add up to 2 quick response widgets to use more frequently. I have added the Weather and Find my phone. This option can be found in: Profile -> My devices Amazfit Verge -> Widget Settings (Choose up to 2 apps).
5) Attention: In all the options that appear during installation, you should select the option: Allow. So that it can receive security commands from Android. It is very important to select it in the contacts option, otherwise it will not see the contacts on your phone.
Useful tips:
1) In the Profile option, there is an option: My goals -> Activity goal. If you only want the watch for notifications and not as a fitness tracker, then you should set it to 2,000 steps so that it doesn't send too many notifications throughout the day that you are being lazy!! It is set to 8,000 by default.
2) To download watch faces for the Verge, click on the link below and download the one you like.
https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/verge/
Click on the download option and select the purple bar with the file ending in .WFZ. Place it on the desktop to easily find it, and then place the watch on the charging base and connect the USB port to your computer. You will see that next to the C: Drive (My Computer), there is an option: Amazfit Watch -> Internal Storage -> WatchFace. Copy/Paste the WFZ files from your desktop to the Watch Face directory and it is ready to use.
You can also change the watch faces from the Amazfit app -> Profile -> My devices Amazfit Verge -> Watch Face Store. If you have downloaded watch faces from the internet, it may not show all of them in the app. You can change them from the watch by long-pressing the screen and selecting all the ones you have downloaded along with the ones that come with the watch.
I bought the specific product 2 times, as the ability to answer and make calls through the watch was convenient for me.
Both times it suddenly stopped working exactly the same way, after a maximum of 1 month of use.
So I had to send it back for service. The first time they returned my money almost immediately, while the second time, almost 2 months later, I am still waiting for a response...
Owner for 2.5 years now, I will say a few things. The watch is impressively good for the money it costs. It is NOT waterproof. Do not put it in the sea or take a bath with it.
The construction material is plastic, hence its price, ideal for simple everyday use. Its smart functions are mediocre compared to other slightly more expensive smartwatches. It offers several smart functions, but it won't impress you. Its battery, with daily use for training like I do, lasts for three days. With the new zepp application, its connectivity is very easy and fast. There are not many watchfaces, unless you go through the process of experimenting with other applications and in conjunction with a laptop. However, the watch is incredible for anyone who does running training. Even on a track, the measurements surpass even the most expensive watches. (It automatically counts laps and 400m, a serious help for anyone who does systematic running). The heart rate monitor needs the watch to be properly strapped to the wrist in order to record accurately, it takes good measurements, but clearly only with a chest strap is there perfect measurement in this matter. Its GPS is fast in locking and excellent. When it is slow or cannot find it quickly, it is good (when it shows something like that), to input data in connection with your mobile, then turn on Bluetooth, and then open the running application on the watch and wait for the mobile app to synchronize with the watch's GPS. (You don't need to have your mobile with you afterwards, just synchronize the GPS once). Then you won't have a problem with it, we're talking about once every 5-6 months. Its speaker is quite average. The screen is excellent.
Overall, it is a cheap solution, mediocre as a smartwatch, but a cheap solution and exceptionally good as a running aid.
I didn't like it at all. The connectivity is relatively good with XIAOMI NOTE 8, up to a maximum of 20 meters away from the phone, limited measurements it can make, limited menu. I had to add applications through amazmod, after hours on YouTube to do it correctly. After 4 months in my possession, some days I wear it and some days I don't. After all, it's my first smartwatch. I probably wouldn't recommend it as a good purchase....
UPDATE 20/06/22: after a considerable amount of time using it, the watch doesn't connect to the phone, it doesn't send notifications or updates, the alarm no longer works (i.e. it doesn't ring at all), the heart rate it shows is all over the place, and as a watch, it can't even synchronize the time. Ultimately, it's a complete failure of a purchase!!!!
I expected more from a sports watch in terms of measurements.... but where it is unforgivable is with its connectivity... with the seventh attempt to connect, I reached..... And it continues to happen.....
Guys, the watch is AMAZING! Literally, it is one of the most durable watches on the market and I can confirm this because it has fallen several times without a scratch! Another positive thing about it is its price, as it has a microphone that allows you to answer and make phone calls. The only downside is its battery life, as it lasts 5-8 days maximum. Lastly, it is waterproof, but I would recommend not swimming or bathing with it because it has a microphone and speaker that could get damaged. Other than that, it is a REALLY good watch. I have had it for 5 months and I highly recommend it
I came from Mi band4 as I wanted something more like a regular watch. I had some issues on the first day with connecting to the PC, which frustrated me. Two weeks later, I am very satisfied as it seems that this issue no longer exists. I am amazed that you can play music and make calls on it. Of course, the microphone is not the best, but it's okay for its price. It took me a while to get used to how to change watch faces since on the Mi band you had apps, here you install them from the PC, but it's okay, it's just a matter of habit. There are not as many options, especially for watch faces, but at least you can enjoy them more because of the screen. It seems well-built. One downside is that you can't swim with it. Not that I'm so concerned about that, but we're human, we can forget, but it's okay, nothing will happen if it happens once. Another thing that bothered me a little is the battery, which lasts 4-5 days, but at least it charges in an hour and something. Also, the menu is fine for me. As for the apps, I haven't used them much, but I never had any issues, even if it lags a bit.
EDIT 14/8/2021 after all this time, I'm giving a small update since today the watch is almost dead. Initially, I noticed that the touch response of the screen was not as immediate over time, but I had paid 80 euros, so I considered it normal. About 4 or 3 days ago, I forgot and took a bath with the watch on. Since then, it has been rebooting on its own and the only way to change the screen, either in settings or app center, is only when I put it on the charger. I tried resetting, rebooting, etc. without success. I am completely disappointed as I believe that the whole situation is pushing the limits of exaggeration, so today I ordered the Honor Magic 2. It is fully waterproof (especially if we're talking about a shower bath), so I believe I won't need to change smartwatches again soon.
It is quite good. It is worth its money. It desynchronizes occasionally and synchronizes with difficulty. The battery is small but for a watch with so many functions, it is reasonable. Not all functions were synchronized directly (ALEXA and phone finding). Otherwise, it is very accurate in its measurements and you can spend a lot of time with it exploring its endless possibilities. I should also mention that it charges extremely fast (less than 1 hour).
The screen is amoled with nice colors and you can see it under the sun.
It doesn't have Greek language, but notifications come in Greek normally.
You can easily change the straps, there are thousands to choose from.
There are many sports to choose from.
The battery lasts for 5 days.
It charges quickly.
It is waterproof, so you don't have to worry about water in the pool or sea.
You can find many watch faces if you search.
It has a microphone and speaker for answering calls.
It easily connects to Bluetooth headphones.
The GPS locks quickly.
Accurate measurement of organs.
Negative:
Made of thermoplastic material, it looks like a children's watch and if you tighten the strap it causes bruises.
No updates in 2021.
I would like the speaker and microphone to be of better quality.
3 stars for the screen and battery.
Update for the tech-savvy: There is Amazmod, with which you can install custom watch faces, applications, and games, and customize many things
Perhaps one of the worst smartwatches on the market. I use it for my runs and the measurements are incorrect and all over the place. Most of the time, I run with a friend who has a Garmin, we have the same pace, do exactly the same things, same distance, etc., and the Amazfit Verge shows at least 600m behind what it actually is. The climax is that I recently ran a virtual race of 21K which I had to submit with a GPX file to qualify somewhere. The watch recorded 21.200 and in reality, it had stolen 300m because when I uploaded the file to the respective page that shows you in detail, it showed that I did 20.900. Truly unacceptable. I ran a half marathon for nothing, I had a problem and couldn't submit it. Stay away from this product and company
The watch is very good, I had it for a year and it worked perfectly, but in the summer when I put it in the sea, it broke even though it claims to be waterproof. It might have been my own mistake, but it's still worth its price
Well.....
Owner of the Verge black here for about a year.
For the 97€ I got it for, it was great...
Today, with the release of the Galaxy Watch 3 and the price drop of the 2 to 160€, maybe the Galaxy would be a better choice...
Positives:
1. Flawless amoled display
2. Battery lasts a week with regular use...
With constant Bluetooth connection, it lasts 2-4 days depending on activities... It also charges quite fast.
3. Calls, messages, and app notifications all come to the watch... Yes, in Greek and with emojis, and they stay on the watch until you delete them... It has vibration and a speaker, so you can answer calls and talk normally or reject the call.
4. Music, you can transfer songs from your PC and connect it to headphones to listen or talk on calls.
5. Super lightweight, you don't even feel like you're wearing it.
6. You can change the straps.
7. Endless watch faces and customization.
Negatives:
1. Speaker sometimes has interference during calls, other times it doesn't, no issues with music.
2. You can't reply to messages, viber, etc., you can only see them.
3. Appearance... It's plastic... Not of bad quality... But... It doesn't look like a good watch... More like a temporary one...
4. It's not waterproof for the sea or pool!
It won't have issues in the shower, but it's good to take it off...
5. It doesn't have options to add apps, only some widgets...
Ps. If they made it look like the Stratos, it would get 5 stars.
After a long period of use, I am quite satisfied. The measurements are quite accurate. It has everything I need for use in sports activities. Its use in calls is satisfactory in closed spaces, although it is almost impossible outdoors as the speaker is moderate in volume. Its battery, although it claims to last 5 days, in my case it lasts a week with all measurements open during a relaxed week of exercise.
I bought the watch purely for athletic use, specifically for running as I compete in track and field. After seven months of heavy use, I can say the following:
Pros: It is very cheap compared to other brands such as Garmin, Suunto, Apple Watch, etc. It is resistant to falls and has no problem with water, meaning if you need to do something like wash dishes, it won't have any issues. Personally, I even put it under the faucet.
Cons: Where do I begin and where do I end... The heart rate monitor is terrible. I take a measurement and it shows that I have 74 beats per minute, then I take another measurement and it shows 82 beats per minute. In other words, it is not accurate at all. Also, it cannot be that I have run 5 kilometers in 16 minutes, be completely exhausted, and it shows that I only have 110 beats per minute. Additionally, it takes a very long time to find a satellite and sometimes it doesn't even find one, even when I am in an open area. Furthermore, the function that allows you to answer calls and talk through the watch is very bad because the microphone and speaker are so terrible that you can't understand what the other person is saying. The pedometer is average, I guess.
In short: If you want to buy a watch for athletic purposes, I would recommend spending an extra 100€ and getting a reliable Garmin. Also, I believe it is better to spend 200€ on a watch that will last you years and do its job, rather than buying something cheap that you won't enjoy and won't do its job.
I would like to inform you that today, 31/8/2020, the watch stopped working for some reason while I was wearing it... the whole screen turned yellow and I haven't even had it for a year... it's really a waste of money
Very good and with a touch screen because they don't write it in the specifications. The only downside is that it is not for swimming, it has many sports besides swimming. Very good synchronization with S9 and I can read messages and respond, see who is calling me in calls. In a few words, value for money!
I wouldn't recommend it, I bought it, went swimming because it was waterproof, it became something I shouldn't say... Before I went swimming, it had some glitches and I didn't like its colors. Overall, it was okay for running and I could see calls on the screen, no need to talk from the watch and be heard... I believe the company in these watches is...
If you think you can get a Garmin-type watch (worth €300) for around €100, forget it.
If you just want a watch to tell the time, get a Casio with a 5-year battery to be cool.
I chose the Verge for running for two reasons:
GPS
Music on Bluetooth headphones
And that's where the problem starts. Within two months, I only reached the point where I wanted to do my exercise once, and everything worked with one click.
It takes a lot of time to find a satellite and it drains the battery. If it finds one...
While connecting the headphones is a matter of luck. But if it connects, it works.
Especially if you connect it to your phone and synchronize everything, the battery lasts a maximum of one and a half days.
The build quality is relatively good, the internal memory is a positive feature for storing a few songs, it's lightweight, and has a nice appearance... that's about it.
In conclusion, not all products are expensive just because they have good marketing and a big company behind them. No. We can't compare them all to smartphones (Apple - Xiaomi, etc.).
Some products are expensive because they offer what they claim with accuracy, consistency, and without issues.
Just like with my friend tonino350z, I bought this product but after a month it suddenly stopped working.
Now I have it in its box ready to return it and only this fact has disappointed me incredibly.
It is the first smartwatch I have used and in the past I never wore a watch. Now I couldn't live without it. It is truly a significant gadget and has been very helpful to me. It is lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. When I'm driving, I can now answer calls without any danger, although I don't recommend it. Overall, there are many reasons to buy it. On the downside, the speaker is mediocre to bad. It has disconnected from my phone several times. Its operating system is not perfect and the find my phone function simply doesn't work. I have never been able to find my phone with the watch and it would be very useful if it worked
Impressive with the colors of the screen! Very good!
-Useful for me, considering the price, of course, as it is connected to the phone so I can see who is calling me while riding my bike.
-Many functions for every type of sport.
-The measurements are very close to reality.
-What I would like is a slightly bigger screen, and that would satisfy me completely!
I bought it about a year ago.. I am an average user who is interested in seeing steps (very accurate), sleep (not with so much accuracy), running (quite accurate), and sometimes mountain skiing (I had another watch alongside that showed very good measurements, with small deviations).. for its price, it is a very decent watch, with relatively accurate measurements and various features that a branded watch would cost three times as much. Its build quality is mediocre, but if you are not a demanding user who, for example, runs in the mountains or wants to "fix and upgrade" your watch, then you will enjoy it.. the battery is quite good, especially in flight mode, where steps and sleep work normally, it easily lasts a week with one charge. For an economical solution for an average user, I highly recommend it!
The application needs work and constantly requires you to connect it through your mobile phone.
Now the touch screen is not working and I have it as a regular watch...
Owner here for two months, bought second-hand... It covers me perfectly in everything, connects directly to my phone (the app needs work), the speakerphone works great, and the measurements are also accurate... Battery M lasts about a week depending on my usage. It is very lightweight and fits perfectly in my hand. I highly recommend it
Everything is fine until 10 days after that for unknown reasons it does not charge and does not start, it is in the process of being repaired or replaced. Apart from the damage, it is a great value watch
A star because I got it not for sports but to see who is calling me and not to take out my phone without reason to see it owner Xiaomi mi max2 at first everything is fine after 2 days neither the phone answers the call nor closes it in general it took me many hours to try to reconnect it with the phone unacceptable probably I will go to Samsung and to a phone next time and to a phone
I got a nice watch, one for myself and one for a friend, but after four months, the button on one of them started malfunctioning, as well as the battery on one of them would discharge in 2 days... disappointed, I would say...
It is very good. I have had it for three months and it hasn't had any issues. AND IMAGINE!!!! Despite the very good sound, it is waterproof (of course, not for swimming). I have taken countless baths and it hasn't had any issues. It's perfect for sporty types. And the screen??? It's like having the iPhone XR!!! I don't understand what the difference is with the Apple watch!! (the shape, you fool!). For the heart rate monitoring, it's not perfect, but it doesn't bother me. Anyway, if you're looking for a smart watch in the hundred and ten euro range, it's perfect. Oh, if your phone has a bad camera, you won't be able to sync it. But I don't think you'll have such a bad camera, right?
Kids at 100€ is a one-way street... After 5 months in my possession, I only have good things to say about the watch.... The screen is flawless, the battery lasts comfortably for a week with simple use... In permanent Bluetooth connection, it lasts 3-4 days... charges very quickly! Calls, messages, and app notifications all directly on the watch... I can work without needing to have my phone on me! I simply feel the vibration on the watch and check who it is! You can also transfer several songs from the PC and connect it to headphones, making your life easier at the gym as you don't need to have your phone in your hand all the time! As for appearance, I expected it to be worse... even though it's plastic, it feels very elegant in the hand and lightweight... I've never taken it off my hand in the bathroom, but I haven't worn it in the sea either... After all, it's not waterproof for the sea. Don't think about it, you've already bought it!
Monday I received it, Wednesday it stopped working with the indication in English (sorry, this specific Xiaomi has stopped working, so I returned it to the company I bought it from without complaint and with the shipping cost being their responsibility without knowing the result yet... I will announce if the replacement is fixed...
Whatever I say, it's a great screen with all the notifications and good battery, durable and beautiful, even if it's plastic, it's worth buying it without hesitation
