The book moves in two axes, that of comparative law and cultural goods, which however ultimately intertwine with each other. After the Introduction where the author explains the meaning of legal comparisons, the first chapter deals with the infinite variety of laws and their beauty - the topics of the chapter include, among others, legal pluralism in both oral laws of indigenous peoples and the protection of cultural goods. The second chapter is dedicated to cultural goods. It explores issues such as who "owns" a particular culture, artworks as essential elements of national (state) identity, cultural goods and cultural identity, as well as the importance of language for comparative law and texts related to cultural goods. The third chapter of the work entitled "Museums. Public - Private" examines the identity of collectors and their peculiarities, archaeological collections, collecting practices, the role of private collectors in the establishment and organization of museums, and whether museums differ among different states or communities. The fourth chapter analyzes legal and cultural transplantations (generally about legal transplantations, transplantations in the Far East and in China), while the fifth chapter examines the protection of cultural goods in the national laws of former colonies or under some kind of colonial domination (Ottoman Empire, Latin America). The sixth chapter deals with the protection of cultural goods that are threatened both due to armed conflicts (e.g. Iraq) and in times of peace when there is an attempt to destroy the cultural past of a people. The seventh and final chapter of the work is dedicated to cultural goods that have been removed from their original space and the pursuit of their return. Cases such as Nefertiti in Egypt, the Kohinoor diamond, the Baldin - Bremen Kunsthalle case, and the Parthenon Sculptures, which are located in the British Museum, are examined among others. The work is accompanied by a rich Greek and foreign-language bibliography and articles.
