The conflict between the Left (KKE-EAM) and the British begins from the early days of the Occupation. The phases of this conflict:

- The attempt to prevent the development of the Left movement.
- After the rapid growth of EAM, the British set traps to crush this movement.
- An incapable leadership, at the top of the National Resistance movement, slides into the path of submission: Common General Headquarters of Guerrillas, Livanos, Kazertha.
- Churchill insists on the defeat of EAM.
- The critical turning point on 27-28/11/1944 leads to the conflict.
- The British strike in December 1944, while EAM, voluntarily, does not counterattack.
- A dramatic conflict that ended in the defeat of the Left and negatively sealed the course of our people.
- A defeat that imposed foreign rule in our land with all the consequences.
