"Trouble in Paradise" is the story of a brave man's struggle to understand the social activity of his fellow human beings.

It is an autobiographical work, where Reich describes the evolution of his sociological thinking during the period 1927-1937. In a simple narrative form, he presents his personal experiences from the major social and political events and reveals how these experiences gradually led him to realize the deeper significance of the structure of human character in shaping the social process.
