This edition is a contribution to the bibliography of rebetiko music. It includes the recording of a significant number of pre-war compositions, which concern compositions of urban repertoire. All the known composers of the era are represented in this selection, which is based on criteria of both aesthetics and highlighting particular melodic developments.
