Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can
report it here.
It's a great sound system, it produces very good sound. I installed it in a Fiat Bravo, but I had to change the yellow to red in the wires to keep the settings. I am very satisfied. I highly recommend it.
I consider it to be a very good product at an excellent price. A multitude of settings and functions and clear and powerful sound. Of course, always in combination with a good set of speakers. However, even with my completely simple ones, it sounds very good. Also, I needed to change the two plugs of the cables, the yellow to red and vice versa, which is particularly easy since they are plug-in. Without this change, it wouldn't save the settings in memory. I highly recommend it.
Excellent sound quality combined with the Hertz X 165. I read about the screen brightness that some complain about, it has 10 levels of brightness so check your settings before taking your stars out of the evaluation. The same goes for those who do NOT have USB sticks in FAT 16 or FAT 32 and they don't play. Those of us who bought it have a little gem in our car for 50 euros, it has very good clear sound and plenty of settings. Here you can see simply and easily how to adjust your Pioneer MVH-S120UB: https://www.youtube.com/@pioneerelectronics
Excellent sound quality for the money!!! It does not have Bluetooth, but if you want a smart tip for hands-free listening during calls, here it is: Connect a cable with Jack 3.5 connectors to Jack 3.5 (stereo) in the AUX input and in the output for your phone's headphones. This way, apart from being able to listen to internet radio, if you receive a call or make one while the unit is in AUX mode, the music automatically stops and you can hear the caller from your car speakers CRYSTAL CLEAR!!! The volume of the call is adjusted by the unit, just like for your music. It does not echo at all!!! What I am writing to you is not for show. It has been tested. My goal is for you to have no doubt and to help as much as I can. It has amazing sound even at high volume with the factory speakers and without an amplifier!!! If you want to see the installation in a TOYOTA COROLLA 2002 model, click on the link below and watch it on my channel (PANOSDIY) on YouTube
It was purchased for a simple sound system in a Yaris 1999-2002. The installation is very easy, it fits perfectly in the screws and everything. The provided plug doesn't fit, it needs cable conversion for the mechanic to easily make it fit. The sound is amazing, especially combined with Pioneer 4" speakers (my car doesn't have speakers in the doors). Very user-friendly and easy to navigate menu. For phone connection, it's better to use aux because the Pioneer app is not good for connecting with USB. I am very satisfied and highly recommend it.
Today I received and installed the 2nd pioneer mvh-S120UB in a Fiat Brava. I had to change the red-yellow connection in the plug that comes from pioneer, so that it doesn't go into demo mode every time the car is turned off and to prevent it from losing its settings. The sound is impeccable, no doubt about that.
My question is as follows... I have the exact same pioneer installed in a Honda Civic (installed by someone else) and there, even though it plays normally, the screen doesn't have decent brightness, while in the Fiat it is very decent.
It fit perfectly in my Renault Clio 2. Good sound and easy installation. The Pioneer app doesn't work on my phone, although that seems to be a luck issue from what I read. Also, it DOES NOT HAVE BLUETOOTH. If that doesn't bother you, it's great
To play on an Audi A4 B6, it requires an adapter that is more expensive than the radio itself. The radio is worth the money, even at the price of 45 here. For those who say it doesn't have good brightness, it's not true. You just press the button to go back for a while and it has a second, brighter level. One for the day and one for the night, so it doesn't bother you while driving. It remembers all the songs and plays them in order. Now, it will show if it has durability over time!
I put it in a Skoda Fabia. It fit immediately in the connections. However, I had to slightly adjust the external frame to install it. That way, it sat more securely.
It immediately picked up stations.
I was impressed by the sound quality. It's the first time I've heard all the car speakers.
It's definitely a great purchase for its price.
Unfortunately, I bought it last year and I didn't have the chance to install it earlier to see if it covers me. It needed an electrician and the flash drive sometimes works and sometimes not, because I bought it without Bluetooth knowledge, I tried to connect it with a cable but the mobile application is terrible. Maybe I will buy an aux cable later, but overall it's okay for its price.
For music and radio in the car, I consider it excellent both in terms of its price and in general. The menus are definitely difficult to use with a one-line screen and abbreviated information. But like anything new, one must learn it.
I must say that compared to the older one I had, its antenna has more power and I can now pick up stations that I couldn't before in some areas, and they sound relatively good.
Because during my first use of the USB it showed the message "ERROR 23" even though the flash drive was already formatted as FAT32, I am providing some information that I found and worked:
I download the free program Rufus (https://rufus.ie/el/) [if it doesn't recognize an old flash drive, I download an older version] and select "Boot selection" = FreeDOS.
I leave the rest as default settings set by the program (MBR, BIOS, etc.) and press the "Start" button below (no need to select any ISO, just press "Start").
Then, through the Windows "File Explorer," I can easily delete the files created by the FreeDOS option.
After that, I put the MP3 files in folders on the flash drive as usual, and the "ERROR 23" did not appear again.
I used an old, slow USB 2.0 flash drive that I didn't need for my computer, but it works perfectly fine for the audio system and moves between songs without delays.
The menu on the screen is not visible at all during the day. The sound needs adjustment on the equalizer because the presets are terrible. I have had it for 4 months and the left on-off button requires a lot of pressure to open or close. Overall, it is average for a Pioneer product.
I had no problems, it works perfectly so far and the brightness is great. As for the USB, I also had no issues and I use two ancient sticks. It recognizes them perfectly without any problem. My only issue is the mute, which I either haven't found or doesn't exist.
Very good for 45€, easy to install. The only thing that bothered me was the confusion caused by the cables that Pioneer provides. It has one red and one yellow cable, and you have to connect the red to the yellow and the yellow to the red in order to keep the settings and stations. Otherwise, if you remove the key, it loses all the stations and settings you had set. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this product. The sound is very clear
Because I read about the brightness, yes it has low lighting (or contrast, I don't know) but for me it's not a deal breaker. As for some comments about the USB, I tried 3 different ones, a new one that I got with the sound system, one that I had for 3-4 years, and one that I've had for the last 10 (easily) years. They all worked fine, so if someone has an issue with their USB or has a "bad" USB brand or has done something wrong with their computer that "breaks" the USB, I don't exclude the possibility that the USB may be defective, but it rarely happens. Overall, a very good purchase for me, decent sound, nice menu, I can't find any negatives apart from the brightness but as I already said, it doesn't bother me much.
It has a very nice sound, really good volume, worth its money. At first, I had a problem with the demo mode, which I deactivated and it kept turning on every time I turned on the power. I solved it by connecting the red cable to the yellow one, as I read in the comments of a gentleman's post. Now I have two 50w speakers in the front doors. I was impressed by the small cooler it has from the factory, and indeed, with the use I gave it, the cooler not only cried, but you couldn't even touch it. It surprised me that no damaged devices have been observed due to overheating, as the main cooler did not have any thermal paste. I added an additional cooler to improve the situation, and although it is still very hot. In the future, I will install two more speakers in the two rear doors, where the amplifier will be pushed a little harder. Until then, I will update you on the results. Nevertheless, the product is very good, it has very good sound, easy adjustments, and very easy installation.
1) Screen brightness: you can easily find water in the desert.
2) It does not have Bluetooth.
3) The USB stick does not want to play and shows a format read error, while in cheaper Chinese audio systems it works properly.
Imagine, I bought 2 of them.
As for the issues with the USB stick, I was getting error-19. The solution suggested by the company is to change the source and reinsert the USB or remove it and reinsert it. None of these worked. Then I tried another 16GB USB stick, formatted in FAT32 with an allocation unit size of 4000-something bytes. And USB 2. This worked immediately. FAT32 plays a role, I don't know about the others, I just mention them in case someone finds them helpful. Another thing is that the USB port is very tight, so it would be good not to try a very small USB stick like a Sandisk (which is perfect for cars, it's true), because it will be difficult to remove. The USB stick should have some volume so that you can hold it well and press the front panel a little because it's a bit tight.
You can also download the full manual from here https://www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/support/manuals/71457 because what's inside is only a quick start guide. However, it doesn't have Greek.
Very good choice for a car audio system. It's worth the money.
I have installed it in a BMW E46 and it plays great. Good bass with a little tweaking on the equalizer.
One thing I didn't like is that it only connects to mobile phones (via USB) with the ARC app up to Android 7.0, as stated on their website. It works perfectly with my old Galaxy S6, but it doesn't support newer devices.
One workaround I have done is that I bought a Bluetooth to aux device and placed it on top. I connect it to my phone and it makes calls and music easier.
Flawless in everything and easy to handle. I would like the source button to stand out in some way, but otherwise everything is good. Exceptional performance and the preset settings on the equalizer allow you to quickly adjust the sound to your liking while driving. The buttons seem durable, although this will be evident over time.
Replacement of Osio ACO-4530. When it comes to intensity, there is no comparison. Where the Osio's intensity ends, the Pioneer begins.
Negative point is that it doesn't have a separate bass-treble adjustment, but it has many preset options from the Equalizer!
RDM option on USB with MP3 format songs, IT HAS WHAT I WANTED.
The sound is like coming from a home stereo and the intensity fills the car, pleasant listening experiences.
Is the connection with the Arc made with a cable? Because it doesn't find the Bluetooth.
Thank you to those who reviewed this model and I decided to buy it!!!
December 8th.
The negative point is that every time you turn it off, the settings are lost.
Short-circuit yellow with the red power supply and it holds the settings, but the panel stays illuminated continuously and doesn't turn off...
The bass-treble adjustment is difficult for me and it doesn't hold when turned off.
January 21st.
I connected yellow-red again and went to the settings Menu-system-Android wired->Memory.
Now when I turn it off, all LED lights turn off and it keeps all the settings in memory and continues playing the song from the USB where it left off...
I'll start with this: If you use Type-C, look for other options. It won't work with Type-C.
I use it with Aux and overall I am very satisfied with the sound. But the Type-C issue was a big disappointment because I wanted to use the controls of the audio system and the buttons on the steering wheel to skip songs, pause, etc. Now with Aux, I do all of that from my phone, which is placed in a holder, but it's not as safe while driving because it distracts my attention. The alternative is to use a USB stick, which limits me to the songs on it and requires a process compared to Spotify on my phone.
So far, there hasn't been any workaround to make the Type-C work.
For its price, it does a really good job, and when I had a phone with Mini USB, it worked flawlessly. It's a shame because such an error that could have been relatively easily fixed makes it quite inconvenient in my daily life. Personally, I would spend a little extra money to get the version with Bluetooth, which would eliminate the cables I have installed on the dashboard and make it easier for my friends to play music from their own phones.
Edit: Since I saw a review mentioning the maximum point the sound reaches before it starts "clipping," I have to say that this must be an issue with the speakers and amplifiers, not the player itself. I have noticed it with very bass-heavy songs. It's like it can't handle that much bass in a song, which makes sense in my car since I don't have a subwoofer or an amplifier.
It may cost a little and it doesn't seem like it, but it produces top-notch sound. I had an old JVC, it's like day and night. I can't connect it with the app, but no problem. If you have issues with the settings getting lost, change the cables, red with yellow.
I bought it here about a month ago. It started giving me a problem with the sound as soon as I increase the volume above 35, the sound becomes intermittent. I noticed that it has a small iron piece at the back which is its cooling element and it heats up very quickly. And I don't know why
For its price, it's just okay. I wouldn't buy it again, I'm not satisfied with the brightness at all, you can't see anything when it's sunny. Also, the search buttons are not convenient at all, I regret it but........I've already paid for it.
Replaced a radio cassette player in a Toyota Yaris 1999. Very easy installation. Needed an adapter for the wiring (cost 10 euros) and on the first use of the device, a pleasant surprise came! The sound is perfect for the standard car speakers, which it greatly enhanced! It's as if I changed the speakers and put better ones! No need to change the wiring, it retains all the presets when turned off and plays perfectly from the USB stick as long as it is formatted in fat 32. It doesn't have a plethora of settings for bass, treble, etc., but it has a separate loudness setting. For its price, I consider it an excellent purchase.
I am rewriting my review because there was a mistake in the model I received and I didn't notice it.
Today I received this specific product and I can say that I am quite satisfied with its functions. I got it as a replacement for the pioneer MVH-1400UB, which is around the same price, and I will compare it to that.
The sound settings, which are the most important in a source, work quite well, but don't expect anything extraordinary, especially when it comes to small sound systems.
They have removed the classic bass, mid, and treble adjustments with the +1234 -1234 indicators and replaced them with adjustments in the form of hertz (Hz), giving you 50Hz, 200Hz, 800Hz, 2kHz. You can play with + or - 6 on each frequency. The downside is that it doesn't have a wide range of frequencies, which is understandable considering the price. Although I looked up to 70 euros and couldn't find anything better. Also, for someone who doesn't know much about these things, it can be quite difficult.
As for the radio stations, even though I don't really care about them, it picks up quite a few with good signal. It also reads Greek.
The only thing that impressed me is its size. Compared to the one I had at the same price, I must say it is much smaller, without a heatsink, and with only one pair of RCA outputs.
In short, it is quite decent for its price and it plays very well with almost average speakers for vocals. I am also waiting for a pioneer active subwoofer, which I will balance it with soon.
The best thing about it is that it plays quite loudly for its price, it's 4x50.... Maybe even more. I bought it together with a pair of Alpine speakers, 40 watts, but they turned out to be too small for this sound system. It is possible to install a subwoofer as well, since it has a separate driving function to free the other speakers from the bass.
Well, after a year of heavy use, I can say that it's worth every euro. I had a cassette player that came with the car. As soon as I bought this, I had the impression that I had a subwoofer inside. Because I have good speakers. The source was the issue. It has good bass and plays very loudly now, kids, it also depends on the speakers you have. If you have the factory ones in an old car, don't expect miracles. But if you have good speakers, it makes a big difference. Also, it's 40€, not 200€, so we judge accordingly to the price.
Very good!!! Especially at 37€, I don't think you can ask for more. Quality of construction and sound in complete harmony!!! DOES NOT HAVE BLUE TOOTH, I just mention it so you don't expect anything else and get something else... It also has a detachable front panel! I have nothing negative to say.
