In The Republic, Socrates, surrounded by prominent Athenian citizens and foreigners, all gathered at Polemarchus' house in Piraeus, discuss and construct an ideal city, or rather an ideal form of government, and address fundamental questions. This is the famous dialogue "On Justice," which proposes a plan for organizing the ideal community of law and education and exposes the political and ethical principles of the philosopher.
