Bluetooth steering wheel controller for controlling Radio-CD, Multimedia Screens & Multimedia Receivers.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
It is not Bluetooth as stated (of course, no change in the description all this time). Only IR... so it requires line of sight with the unit.
It's great and very old in an s2000 for 4 years... very convenient and holds well... and if you want, you can take it off and have it in your hand with scratches... or the passenger..
I'm deducting 2 stars because the rubber that held the base got cut and I had to put a tire wrap.. it's a shame, others mentioned it too.
I will come back after 8 months, the rubber bands that tie on the handlebar are cut for fun!
Really unacceptable!!! 3/12/2023
It must be placed in this position to work properly! The signal is sent from behind and below! Overall, it works fine!
Wrongly referred to as Bluetooth*. It only has two infrared LEDs: "Infrared Remote Control, Wavelength 940 nm ±50 nm, Output typ; 14 mw/sr per infrared LED (2LEDs used)". I wonder why Pioneer includes it for use on the steering wheel (which is far from the sound source). It only works within 15 centimeters from the unit (SPH-DA360DAB), and if placed anywhere else on the steering wheel, it stops working. Unfortunately, I hadn't read the reviews and comments here before ordering it. What a disappointment!
*The ridiculous thing from Pioneer's side is that they refer to it as "Remote Control with Bluetooth Operation," but it actually means that it can answer or end a phone call (which is usually connected via Bluetooth). The communication of the remote control is in no way done through Bluetooth.
Indeed, you don't want to have fingers on the bottom part where the company logo is because you cut off the logo and it doesn't work. It works perfectly for me, I have it on the top part of the steering wheel so that the bottom part can catch the signal.
Combined with the Pioneer DMH-A340DAB. Although it is not on the list of compatible devices, it works fine. In a straight position and approximately 45 degrees to the right/left, it catches the signal properly, so it does its job perfectly. You don't need to look at the screen to change the station/song/voice. I would like a button for start/stop of the song, but I can live without it. 4 stars because when I installed it, I tightened it too much and damaged the rubber bands that hold it, but I fixed it. It requires a little attention.
NO! NO! NO! Don't buy it because you will waste your money!!! An electrician installed it in my car and it didn't fit in any position on the steering wheel!!! It only works if it's facing straight and close (as the gentleman below says) to the source, and even then it doesn't work well!!! What a shame... I wasted 30 euros on garbage!!!
EDIT 05/2021: I had left it in the warehouse since then, and now that I was fixing it, I found it and decided to try it again. After many attempts/trials in different positions, it finally worked (somewhat better, but at least it's functional now) in the right position on the steering wheel, low down, in the same line as the radio. I noticed that if you hold the steering wheel (and the remote) with your right hand to press the buttons, because you obviously block the infrared (because it must definitely have infrared and not the Bluetooth they advertise), it doesn't work well, while if you operate it with your left hand, it works better.
P.S. In the end, it does require a little adjustment, and it will work with the right hand too! Just, when you hold the steering wheel, don't hold it tightly, slightly lift your fingers so as not to obstruct the range with your hand holding the steering wheel and make sure it is perfectly straight (when going straight, that is). At least that's how it works for me and it does its job! So, in the end, I won't throw it away.

It needs to be close to the sound source in order to play since it works with infrared.
