This study, guided by contemporary international literature, focuses on the ways in which ideology permeates children's literature texts and how it is transformed through various narrative manipulations, which can be seen as either controlling or liberating for the reader. The ideological issues are examined based on two categorizations: thematic and genre-related. In conclusion, the author argues that the way adults perceive children's reading abilities and critical thinking skills is of great importance for the type of ideological control or manipulation they will exert on children through literary texts and narrative techniques.
