I thought that for the money it could meet the requirements of household use.
It's tiring that every time you have to log in to use your Home printer.
Expensive spare parts, it's difficult to find the menu to see the ink levels.
It broke down before it even reached its lifespan. Before the first laser supplies were even used.
Mechanical damage diagnosed by HP Support with a replacement worth 70E.
First of all, let me make it clear that I don't like the printer.
In the office, I have professional printers that I use for 99% of my work.
This one is for backup purposes only, for urgent printing and my children's daily tasks. Precisely because it is used infrequently, it must be a laser printer so that the ink does not dry out.
And the ONLY color laser printer in this price range is this one. The immediately next reliable option costs twice as much.
Fortunately, it prints well.
But it has some disadvantages.
It takes too long to start printing and to print each page.
It has the tragic HP system - for which consumer organizations have recently filed a class action lawsuit - where when one ink runs out, it does not display the menu.
To print over the air with Android/iOS, you need to have an account and the app, which I don't like at all. The older version without an account was much more user-friendly.
The wireless connection through Windows often freezes, so I ended up connecting it with a cable for reliability.
It is compact, but the front cassette protrudes a few points in front of its body.
The installation from the PC was easily done on the home's wifi, then on mobile phones it was a piece of cake. The first prints were very good, of course, it takes time for it to get up and running like everyone else.
The reliability and toner consumption will show in due time...
Update:
In September, after 200 pages, it prints terribly. Thankfully, the technical support will replace it.
The reliability is gone.
Sometimes it chews up the pages. It is difficult to access and remove blocked pages, but this is normal when you get a "small" printer. Its toners do not yield the number of pages they claim... You print 100 pages with a logo on the edge and it counts it as a whole page in terms of consumption... Its toners run out ridiculously fast... Besides that, they are very expensive, around 50-60 euros... Be careful not to upgrade the printer's firmware because HP locks it to only work with their own toners... There are toners from third-party manufacturers, but they are not cheap either. A toner costs 35 euros... I had the HP-1522 and I used to forget to change the toner with the same number of prints and much cheaper toners...
Overpriced printer! The wireless connection/printing is a difficult problem for strong solutions.
There are many limitations in order to be able to connect wirelessly. (minimum distance from the router, no connection with repeater or access point, only 2.4G in different case/ presence of 5G, constantly losing connection and getting confused, etc.) It has connected remotely twice, the hp technical support still hasn't managed to do it. And the hp smart app... this joke, it never works properly! Additionally, its (authentic) consumables are tragically expensive (fortunately, compatible ones have been released and you can use it as a regular printer).
The quality of color printing is very mediocre!
Supposedly, a good machine (and of course, functioning properly) should be paid for... here I realized that I have to go even higher in terms of price! (...how much more for home use that I do?!?!?)
update: in the end, because my home network, on the floor where the office is located, is covered by a wireless access point (as far as wifi is concerned) and a gigabit switch (as far as lan/wall sockets are concerned), HP's decision/ruling is that the printer can only function with USB. HP's official guidance is that its printers, in order to function properly, must be connected exclusively to 2.4G networks, directly on the provider's router (either lan or wifi - in my case, this is on a different floor) and no bridge device (e.g. HP JetDirect) will solve the problem and make the printer function properly on the network. All of this is mentioned in the "fine print," so there is no possibility of any manufacturing malfunction or error... otherwise, I would have demanded a cancellation/return of my purchase. Disappointing!
The most useless printer that exists. It constantly jams and takes a long time to load functions. It constantly chews up the paper. The internal mechanism is completely fake, and if it's not all four colors that it has full, it won't print at all. If even one of them empties, it won't start again no matter what you do. Also, the ink is very expensive. A waste of money.
It does not have automatic printing and scanning function front-back, and when loading the papers to be printed from the back, it jams them. Also, the loading mechanism is made of fake plastic and is difficult to use. Other than that, it prints without any problems so far. I would not recommend it as there are better machines available at the same price.
I had a previous model laser Jet CP1025 color. I bought it 8 years ago and it still works. So, I preferred the same brand in combination with a Scanner. Much faster, quieter, better quality printing. Easy installation. I connected it in place of the previous one and it started working. I hope it lasts like the previous one.
