It was time for the old man! With a loud cry, I completely uncovered the lantern and jumped into the room. He let out a groan - just one. The next moment I had thrown him to the floor and had dropped the heavy bed on top of him.

Then I smiled happily, seeing that my task had been completed up to that point. But for a while, my heart continued to beat with a stifled sound. However, this did not bother me. It could not be heard outside the room. Finally, it stopped. The old man was dead. 

I lifted the bed and examined the body. Yes, he was dead, dead. I placed my palm on his heart and held it there for several minutes. There was no pulse. He was dead. His eye would never bother me again.
