"A basic clarification: All people, regardless of gender and age, have some basic rights that are protected by law, the constitution, and the declarations of the UN. I believe that every person is an "individual" and a "social unit", so the support of our rights is done on two levels: the "individual" and the "social". This book aims to help people support their rights more effectively at the "individual level". However, I need to emphasize from the beginning that I believe it is very difficult to support rights at the "individual level" alone: If a person considers themselves permanently and exclusively responsible for anything that happens to them, without recognizing the role that the social system plays in their everyday problems, there is a risk of ending up with a behavior that may seem active and courageous "individually", but will be rather indifferent and full of compromises "socially". It is time to understand that we do not need to wait for the social system to change or for a revolution to happen in order to learn to say "no" sometimes without feeling guilty."
