Description

Rear tire of motorcycle Battlax Hypersport S22 of the company Bridgestone. It is suitable for on-road driving, meaning it can only be used on the road (asphalt).

Its dimensions are 180/55-17. That is, it has a width of 180mm, a profile of 55, and can be mounted on a 17" rim. The profile in tires, meaning the height of the tire's sidewall, is always referred to as a clean number without a unit of measurement as it is a percentage of the width. For example, a 180/55 tire has a width of 180mm and a profile of 55, meaning it has a profile of 180 x 0.55 = 99mm.

The load index and the speed index are two other important characteristics of tires. Specifically, the load index is the maximum load under which the tires are expected to operate properly and is described by an integer number, which corresponds to kilograms, while the speed index is the maximum speed under which the tires are expected to operate properly and is described by a letter from the English alphabet, which corresponds to kilometers per hour. It should be noted that the maximum kilograms, corresponding to the load index, are referred to per tire.

Note: The maximum weight increases proportionally with the load index number, meaning that the larger the number, the greater the maximum operating weight of the tire. Similarly, the maximum speed increases as the letter of the speed index "increases", meaning that the speed index "S" corresponds to a lower speed than that of the "V" index.

In this case, the tire is 73W, meaning that the load index and the speed index are 73 and W respectively.

The TL marking comes from the initials of the words Tubeless Tyres. Tires bearing this marking do not require an inner tube.

I put these specific tires in dimensions 140-70-17 and 110-70-17 on a naked bike. I have done 2500 kilometers with them so far. Impressions: Very good grip during strong braking, very good grip during acceleration, and what surprised me especially is that they are VERY stable on straight roads. Compared to the previous Dunlop tires I had, they are more stable on highways and give a heavier feeling to the bike while also being flexible in turns. They definitely don't slide as easily as the previous Dunlop TT tires I had, but their stability and the amount of grip they provide on the road outweigh that. They seem to be tires that can last at least 10,000 kilometers and hold up very well overall. Of course, I change my tires at 6-8,000 kilometers at most because I push them to their limits. After spending some time with them, I fully trust them, even though at first I was used to the TT tires which have a faster response in corners, which is why they might have felt slower in leaning, but once you get used to them, you have no issues. I will choose them again, they are worth their price!

I wore them on a 2009 vfr800 and they lasted me 18000km (with 80% of them being short city rides but lively ones). At the mileage they reached, they had just squared off a little and they definitely could have lasted longer. I bought them again for a second time because I was fully satisfied. Great grip, very predictable and long-lasting, especially on a bike that weighs 230-240 kilograms

This specific tire has impressed me! It turns and brakes perfectly, giving you a sense of security on winding country roads and maintaining its trajectory in turns! It warms up very quickly compared to touring tires, but it lacks a bit at very high speeds on the highway, where it is affected by crosswinds and road irregularities (compared to Pirelli Angel GT). For the use I make of them (short trips and fast driving on twisty routes), I consider them ideal for my motorcycle (BMW F800R). They are the only tires so far that I use with a lot of safety, utilizing the full leaning margin of the rear tire!

The tire is perfect, it was installed on a Shiver 750, it quickly reaches its temperature, you can lean and not feel the rear wheel slipping, as well as with the corresponding front one. I have some concerns about the wear degree because it is soft like a rubber, but still it's worth it for its grip.

Guys, I had misunderstood the Bridgestone a lot. I would NOT recommend it ONLY for cars. It is an awesome tire. It was recommended to me by someone who is very experienced with motorcycles and he is absolutely right. R1 2008 model. It is simply the perfect tire.

A perfect tire, I had it for 4 years and it was flawless. It doesn't slip, you can lean it more than any other tire. You can feel that it's perfect.
After 4 years, I switched to Dunlop mk3 because I didn't want to pay so much again for Bridgestone and I thought that maybe something cheaper would do the same job. Dunlop is good for its price, but the difference is noticeable!!!
Conclusion: It's perfect for anyone who can afford it!! Otherwise, settle for something else.
I hope I can buy them again! :D
