Thucydides rarely dealt with moral responsibility, but he did not ignore ethics, as has been wrongly claimed. Of course, he was primarily a historian and not a philosopher; but he was a philosophical historian, which is why he was interested not only in the actions and sufferings of peoples and individuals on a historical level, but also in the state of their souls on a psychological and philosophical level.
