The purpose of the study is to understand and interpret the concept of beauty in Dionysius the Areopagite, who likely adopted the theological-philosophical system of his teacher, Proclus. Dionysius bases his Christian worldview on Neoplatonic metaphysics and ontology. He was familiar with the Plotinian theory of hypostases and, in particular, the ontological distinctions of Proclus' worldview. At the same time, he is inspired by Platonic and Plotinian love and presents the source of true beauty, God, who, with his loving disposition towards the created creature, provides his creative power and at the same time urges his creation into a loving relationship with Him.[...]
