The "Forensic Medicine, from theory to practice" has reached its 3rd updated edition, enriched with additional material concerning the issue of addictive substances in Greece and Europe.
In addition to the very good theoretical training provided by this book, it contributes mostly on a practical level. A multitude of practical elements and cases from the author's extensive experience help in the transition from theory to practice in forensic science, as only through practice can theory function effectively.
In the new material, it was deemed appropriate to add the transfer of knowledge such as pneumonia from aspiration, postoperative pneumonia, static pneumonia, elements of embolism in the lungs, etc., although they are mentioned in pathology and general pathological anatomy.
Also, elements that become the subject of research (and disagreements) in courtrooms have been added. The chapter on Toxicology, at the end of the book, fully and analytically covers the toxic action of poisons on the human body, but also includes a special reference to addictive substances, i.e., pharmaceutical substances that, after repeated use, cause addiction and toxicity. Additionally, the edition includes a reference to firearms (ballistics), edited by Georgios Rautogiannis, a forensic expert and ballistic analyst.
The book is a valuable tool in the hands of students, specialized doctors, as well as lawyers, judges, and citizen protection personnel.
