The relationship of the Greeks with thought begins from a very ancient time. In the depths of time, the desire to fly is detected in the mythology of the gods, the demigods, and the heroes. Gradually, boldly at first, and more methodically later, it succeeded. The volume examines the evolution of the idea of flight from antiquity to the present day, as well as the influence it exerted on art, particularly in literature, laying the foundations for a literary genre that was to gain fanatical followers worldwide: science fiction.
