High-quality handmade boot, suitable for demanding use.
With extensive use on difficult terrains, it showed no weak point except for the wear of the sole in the third year of continuous use.
With sole replacement, it can last almost 10 tough years of use.
The seams and stitches are of good quality, and even though it is not properly maintained, it has never let in water.
One negative aspect, someone might say, is its weight. However, considering that someone is looking for a high-quality leather boot for rugged use, priced at around -200€, the Conero is an extremely fair choice
I have had them for five years in hunting in rough terrain and they still hold up for another five. So far, they have not taken in water with good maintenance. I believe they will withstand it, but five years
I have them for 4 years.
I wear them almost every day in agricultural work from February to October with humidity, mud, water, dirt, and occasionally on rocky ground! From October to February, I use them in an environment where water, alcohol, and acids will definitely wet the shoes daily!
The positives:
They are lightweight, always for this type of shoe.
The sole is incredibly durable.
Very good ankle protection.
They have never taken the slightest moisture!!!
The leather is very resistant, withstands strong scratches from stones and metals, and has not dried out, always in relation to the use and the years I wear them and with the minimal maintenance I do (once a year at most, twice with a cream).
The flexible piece of leather in front of the laces is their most important advantage. It helps prevent the shoes from breaking. In the many years of use, they started to break slightly in the third year... and it is more noticeable now in the current fourth year. The issue is only aesthetic, the waterproofing has not changed, always with proper cleaning and drying, i.e. washing with water and a brush if there is mud or a lot of dirt, and letting them dry in an unheated space with relatively little light. Of course, I am always talking about the exterior of the shoes because, as I said, they have never taken any moisture.
Negatives:
They slip quite a bit on wet surfaces with stone, marble, and outdoor tiles where I don't slip even with flip-flops.
