I will compare this specific backpack with the well-known to everyone Maori Monterray 65l which was also my first backpack. So, even though the Maori is 65 liters, it seemed to have a much larger storage space compared to the Vango of 70 (and well) liters. In the photo, I show the items I put in both, and the Maori still had space for two pots and a sleeping bag + the external pockets. The Vango was immediately full with these items and had no other space. Also, when the Vango is filled, its external pockets become completely useless as they are pressed by the items inside the backpack, while in the Maori these pockets fill independently of how full the backpack is. The two large side pockets of the Vango fit a max 1-liter bottle, while the Maori fits 1.5 liters + snacks + coffee + a pack of rice! A big problem is the small pockets at the base, on the sides. In the Vango, you can fit a pack of cigarettes, while in the Maori you can fit a small handball ball inside, it shows where I put my hand. The weight is pretty much the same for both. The small pocket on the sides in front of the Vango is completely useless as it is pressed too much by the pillow and you can only put a credit card or keys there. Maori 55€, Vango 120€! The only good thing about the Vango is its ergonomic back.
