Description

Vienna is not just a city, it is an important capital of central Europe and has long been a global attraction for artists. It is the birthplace of many important figures in the arts and sciences, producing world-renowned musicians, painters, writers, and scientists such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Sigmund Freud - the tradition of a cultural capital.

The Danube River runs through it, and the charm of its landscape has been captured not only in literature but also in music. We all know the melody of perhaps the most famous waltz in the world, the Blue Danube, composed by Austrian musician Johann Strauss II. The city has a population of nearly 2 million and is the most important economic, cultural, and economic center. The city has a port, which has greatly contributed to its development in the wider Central European region. Therefore, in addition to investing in tourism, Vienna also has serious product manufacturing industries. The city is also home to international organizations such as the United Nations.

The city was founded around 500 BC by the Celts, became a Roman frontier stronghold, was the seat of the Habsburg dynasty in the Middle Ages, and served as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire, also known as the Roman Empire of the Pope. The sieges of the city by the Ottomans failed, and Vienna became the barrier against further expansion of the Ottoman Empire in Europe. According to a local legend, it was from this victory that croissants were born, which have the shape of a crescent moon, inspired by Austrian bakers. In the 19th century, it was the capital of the Austrian Empire and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

The 20th century, equally eventful, made it initially the capital of the Austrian Republic after World War I, merged with the German state during World War II, and returned as the capital of Austria after the end of the war. Vienna, due to the imperial atmosphere in which it developed, has many impressive landmarks, most of which were built in the last centuries. Its museums and parks are also noteworthy. Its historic center is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
