It is a masterpiece, the Digimon genre literally raised me on its knees and I have been a fan ever since. I had never played a Digimon game before I got my hands on this one, I approached it with low expectations because the story took quite a while to develop and I spent the first few hours of the game with a lot of dialogue and little combat. When I finally unlocked the mega evolutions and combinations to make 2 Digimon into 1, the game took a crazy turn! I spent hours and days leveling up XP to unlock evolutions and try out everything I had seen in the anime and beyond.
Positives +
-Turn-based system
-Nice generic music
-Beautiful animations
-The switch between the physical world and the Digital world is fun
-The story is wonderful.
-Complete control over digi-evolve!
Negatives -
-The plot is very slow!
-XP farming gets tiring if you want to see everything (but it's not necessary for the story)
-It takes time to learn the system, especially in XP Farm and evolves-de evolves.
-You can't play the Cyber Sleuth story, only Hacker's Memory, essentially because they had many common assets and combined them into one.
It is one of the best Digimon games I have played, luckily it mimics the battle system of Pokémon with turn-based battles, new moves with levels, and evolutions. I think those who like games like Pokémon will enjoy it here, they will find the same recipe.
100% worth it if you are a fan and have played the first cyber sleuth.
