Take seven stories from Herodotus, add five dialogues from Lucian
and mix forty excerpts from Heraclitus. This is the dosage.
But why did I specifically choose these three authors? And to what extent does their combination truly constitute a kind of ancient recipe?
Stories, philosophical reflection, and comedic situations. In their place, I like
to use the words fairy tale, dark, and light, which, for me, mean exactly the same thing.
This is my ancient recipe.
Do the arbitrarily selected excerpts that I used here truly connect with each other, so as to create a novel? That is up to your judgment, Wise Reader.
At least accept that I tried to have as my epigraph, as I chose and translated and blended the materials, the concluding phrase of Heraclitus: "and from all things one and from one all things".
