Description

Abbot Dorotheos is one of the few saints of the Orthodox Church who is both simple and profound in his analysis of the human soul. His texts, although initially addressed to monks, laypeople, and hermits, do not exclude anyone from their target audience. Everything he teaches can and should be applied by every Christian. The reader can identify his personal interests and concerns in every line of his Teachings. He has the feeling that he is sitting at the feet of the saint and enjoying the fruits of his many years of spiritual experience. The central message of his teaching is that every person, under any circumstances, can benefit from and follow the path of sanctification in Christ.

Nothing prevents a person from being saved, neither temptations, nor fellow human beings, nor even their own passions, which, if properly utilized, keep a person humble and become an opportunity for salvation.

The salvation of man begins with his free will. God, respecting the autonomy He granted to man at creation, expects man to take the first step. To believe that Christ can and wants to save him from sin and its consequences, and to desire this. The rest of the work belongs to God. God does not shame anyone when humbly hoping for His mercy.

Deep content. It opens an "unexpected" visual approach to everything that torments us.

The quality of the book as an object is excellent. Hardcover.
